A Beautiful Trouble?

by Olawale Ogunsola
4/04/2015 / Christian Living

It is a common saying that "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder." This means what appears beautiful to A may not be so to B. In the same vein, what is beautiful to B may be ugly to A. This is a type of beauty.

This is one of the reasons every man marries a woman who is beautiful to him.
"And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they choose." Genesis 6:1-2.

Do you know that beauty is not applicable to only women? There are other things that are also beautiful, flowers, trees, fruits, cities and many others.

What destroy people's lives have something to do with their choice of what appears good or beautiful to them. They will never be discouraged from choosing that which attracts them. Every effort to dissuade them will be rebuffed.

By so doing, many people have run after and caught up with "Beautiful Troubles". It started long time ago. It dated back to the days of the first couple in the garden of Eden.

Man was settled in a peaceful environment where they lacked nothing. The enemy of mankind, Satan, came calling; he subtly disrupted their comfort.

Note well that Satan did not force Eve to eat the forbidden friut in the garden. He only appealed to her flesh which completed the assignment.

How?

Genesis 3:6 discloses,
"And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her, and he did eat." King James Version.

As mankind began to see "pleasant" things in the garden and encouraged each other to take them; they did not know that trouble was at stake.

What was the outcome of "pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired"? What was the Trouble in the Beauty?

No one was aware of the gravity of the outcome of "pleasant to the eyes" until judgment was pronounced on the woman, who was interested first in that tree that is desirable to make one wise.
"I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shall bring forth children, and thy desire shalt be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." Genesis 3:16.

An ordinary look at the beautiful tree connoted innocence and safety.
However, the trouble was well concealed to the ordinary eyes. Finally, the curse was pronounced and it came to pass.

That was then!

Now, what is that Beautiful Trouble that you are attracted to or are attracted to you? This can be a woman or man who is married to another person whom you must not touch or look at with lust so that you will not incur the wrath of the Lord, your God. Not only this, anything that looks appealing to you, which you desire but will pitch you against your Maker is a Beautiful Trouble. Therefore, no matter how beautiful or attractive it may be, do not desire it AT ALL!
If not, the trouble inside or around that Beauty may be greater than you can imagine.

My sincere counsel is that you must never run after any Beautiful Trouble. This will enable you to live a trouble-free life. Do you love such a life? Watch what appeals to you. Mind what you desire. Flee from anything that will turn you to an enemy of God.
Flee every Beautiful Trouble!
Stay blessed and rapturable; the Lord is coming soon.
