DIVINE INTERVENTION

by Tesh Njokanma
6/24/2015 / Christian Living

Have you heard of a person with a health challenge that doctors say it will take millions to treat the ailment? Thankfully, the millions are available in the person's account. The person doesn't have to set up an appeal fund, beg or borrow to get the money. The only problem is that even after spending millions on medical treatment, nothing has changed. The person is still seriously ill; still facing a major health crisis after spending so much money and doing everything possible to be treated in the best hospital and by the most respected doctor in the world in that field. There are some problems that not even money can solve. You need divine intervention.

Mark 5:1-20 tells us of a demon possessed man that was in a situation that was beyond man. Demons had taken over this man's life and destiny. They spoke through him, lived in him, and made him do some very strange and awkward things like living in a cemetery and sleeping on dead bodies. This was a man no friend would want to be seen with. He was a man that no parent could proudly and confidently talk about. He was a man that no doctor had been able to come up with the cure to his mental problem.

Mark 5:4 says "no one was strong enough to subdue him". The strongest of men in that town could not tie him down and help him. He had a family as can be seen from Mark 5:19, yet no member of his family could help him. His friends had not been able to do anything about the problem he was in. This man needed divine intervention. He needed God to do what no one had been able to do. I can imagine that when Jesus came towards the demon possessed man and started ministering to him, there were some people who were sneering at the background and saying, what does this Jesus think He is doing, He better run for his life if he knows what's good for him before this raving mad man pounces on him, does he think he can solve the problem this man has been battling with for years that not even the strongest, wisest, richest and most spiritual person in our town has been able to solve? But when Jesus stepped into this man's case, there was a radical transformation. Jesus solved the problem in his life that was beyond the strength, ability and wisdom of man. The peace and joy this man hadn't known for years overshadowed him when he came in contact with Jesus. The respect he had lost was restored back to him when Jesus gave him divine attention. Everything about him changed because Jesus came his way and took over his case. Divine intervention changed this man's story and gave him a very big testimony.

Divine intervention is a life-changing visitation from God that after that visit, people are amazed when they see you. They can't even recognize you any more, they are totally confused and dumbfounded about what they see happening in your life. Do you desire such a visitation from God? Do you want God to intervene in your case like he intervened in the life of the demon possessed man and his life became a marvel and wonder to people (Mark 5:20)?

There's no person in this life that can say I don't need God, I don't need divine intervention. Yes, our case may not be as pitiful as the demon possessed man but we all have issues in our lives that we need God to solve. There are things we have been going through that we need God to put an end to. There are things we have been longing to see in our lives that only God's intervention can bring those things our way.

This is your season of divine intervention; a season for God to step in and take over. A season that we will see God step in and take over our finances, career, ministry, family, church, nation, hopes and aspirations. Those situations in your life that no one has been interested in helping you with or they have even helped you with yet nothing has come out of it, God will step into those situations today and give you the kind of peace and joy you have never known. All you need is to believe Him, to believe His Word, to believe that your God can do all things; nothing, absolutely nothing is too difficult for God (Jeremiah 32:17). He has done it before, He will do it again, He will do it for you.
