Not Battle Scars

The average male probably never thinks about stretch marks. It's a female thing. When going through adolescent growth spurts, girls might view their first stretch marks. Years later, during pregnancy, distinct stretch marks surface and resemble scars. Expectant mothers apply baby oil or creams to affected areas in hopes to prevent permanent stretch mark scarring.

The vain, who obsess about pregnancy weight gain and stretch marks detest the physical changes they experience. As a mother of two adult children, I look back to both pregnancies with great joy. The stretch marks left behind are not battle scars; instead, they are reminders of a labor of love.

"My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you (Galatians 4:19 KJV)."
