Pastor's Plea

An Under Shepherd is a compassionate pastor, faithfully tending the flock of the Good Shepherd. They rejoice when we rejoice and mourn deeply when we mourn.

As I read the epistles, I sense a fatherly tone in the words of Apostles Paul, Peter, and John. The latter frequently called believers little children or 'my little children.'

Children often bicker.

God's heirs are often selfish; they squabble.

They need tough love administered through the tender hand of an Under Shepherd.

Hear a pastor's plea.

"If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies, Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded , having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves. Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others (Philippians 2:1-4 KJV)."

Apostle John's plea continues to reverberate through time

"My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth (1 John 3:18 KJV)."
