MAKING A STAND FOR GOD

by Lewis E. Thomas
9/05/2015 / Poetry

I watched the news recently reporting on Kim Davis making a stand.
She refused to grant homosexual marriage licenses on demand!

A Court Clerk standing up for God against the Mighty Supreme Court!
You know, the same evil court who granted the right to murder the unborn and to abort!

She is like unto Peter and like unto the apostle Paul.
She "made a stand for God" and she is willing to lose it all!

The liberals now "own" five out of the nine Supreme Court Judges!
Kim Davis stands like David against Goliath and never budges!

Have you noticed how silent our churches are across the land?
Why are they not all "out in force" supporting the Kim Davis stand?

Heaven is standing now giving Kim Davis their full applause!
Because she stands firm against evil and fights for her Lord's holy cause!

How do you "stack up" against Kim in your Christian walk?
Are you a "SAINT OF ACTION" or just "A LOT OF HOT AIR AND TALK"?

It is mind boggling how just five liberal judges dressed in black.
Can spiritually "derail America" and knock our Nation off its moral track!

This poem in honor of Kim Davis for her Christian stand against Sin/Evil.

James 2:
18 But someone may well argue, "You say the way to God is by faith alone, plus nothing; well, I say that good works are important too, for without good works you can't prove whether you have faith or not; but anyone can see that I have faith by the way I act."

19 Are there still some among you who hold that "only believing" is enough? Believing in one God? Well, remember that the demons believe this tooso strongly that they tremble in terror! 20 Fool! When will you ever learn that "believing" is useless without doing what God wants you to? Faith that does not result in good deeds is not real faith.

21 Don't you remember that even our father Abraham was declared good because of what he did when he was willing to obey God, even if it meant offering his son Isaac to die on the altar? 22 You see, he was trusting God so much that he was willing to do whatever God told him to; his faith was made complete by what he didby his actions, his good deeds. 23 And so it happened just as the Scriptures say, that Abraham trusted God, and the Lord declared him good in God's sight, and he was even called "the friend of God." 24 So you see, a man is saved by what he does, as well as by what he believes.

25 Rahab, the prostitute, is another example of this. She was saved because of what she did when she hid those messengers and sent them safely away by a different road. 26 Just as the body is dead when there is no spirit in it, so faith is dead if it is not the kind that results in good deeds.

DAVIS
Statement on Arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis

HOUSTON, Texas U.S. Sen. Cruz, R-Texas, today released the following statement regarding the arrest of Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis:

Today, judicial lawlessness crossed into judicial tyranny. Today, for the first time ever, the government arrested a Christian woman for living according to her faith. This is wrong. This is not America.

I stand with Kim Davis. Unequivocally. I stand with every American that the Obama Administration is trying to force to choose between honoring his or her faith or complying with a lawless court opinion.

In dissent, Chief Justice Roberts rightly observed that the Courts marriage opinion has nothing to do with the Constitution. Justice Scalia observed that the Courts opinion was so contrary to law that state and local officials would choose to defy it.

For every politician Democrat and Republican who is tut-tutting that Davis must resign, they are defending a hypocritical standard. Where is the call for the mayor of San Francisco to resign for creating a sanctuary city resulting in the murder of American citizens by criminal illegal aliens welcomed by his lawlessness?

Where is the call for President Obama to resign for ignoring and defying our immigration laws, our welfare reform laws, and even his own Obamacare?

When the mayor of San Francisco and President Obama resign, then we can talk about Kim Davis.

Those who are persecuting Kim Davis believe that Christians should not serve in public office. That is the consequence of their position. Or, if Christians do serve in public office, they must disregard their religious faithor be sent to jail.

Kim Davis should not be in jail. We are a country founded on Judeo-Christian values, founded by those fleeing religious oppression and seeking a land where we could worship God and live according to our faith, without being imprisoned for doing so.

I call upon every Believer, every Constitutionalist, every lover of liberty to stand with Kim Davis. Stop the persecution now.
