Bragging Rights

September 13th is a special day. Traditionally recognized as Grandparent's Day, it gives grandchildren the perfect opportunity to express their love and appreciation to their grandmothers and grandfathers.

"and Boaz begat Obed of Ruth; and Obed begat Jesse; And Jesse begat David the king (Matthew 1:5b-6a KJV)."

Boaz and Ruth were the great grandparents of King David. If still living when he made a transition from shepherd boy, to slayer of a giant, they would hold bragging rights.

Long before parents and grandparents carried brag books or scrolled pictures on smart phones, godly elders delighted in their descendants.

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward (Psalm 127:3 KJV)."
