Best Investment Of Your Time

"May the Lord give me the time to pursue the course this year,2016."

These were the words of a minister of God early this year during our discussions on some steps to take in the new year.

My own response was "The president of your country has twenty-four hours to carry out all his private, national and international assignments each day. The Lord in his infinite hv mercies has given you the same number of hours per day to do all you have to. What you do with your time now depends largely on you. God is fair to us in terms of available time."

Since December 2015 or earlier, individuals who wait until the end of the year to plan for the future have engaged in "New Year Resolutions". In some cases such resolutions are few and short. In others, they are long and many. Many are attainable and others are unattainable. Have you made your achievable New Year Resolutions? How workable are they?

Do you know that there is a way to invest your time in 2016 for maximum results? Do you want to know this best investment of your life? Come along with me!

You cannot only include this on your list of resolutions but must make it number one and pursue it with the whole of your being because it is the nucleus for achieving all other resolutions.

Why? Alpha and omega make it known to all, especially His disciples, that.
"I am the vine, you are the branches.
He who abides in Me and I in him, bears much fruits,
For without Me you can do nothing." John 15:5.

Therefore, if you must bear much fruits (achieve) all your Godly resolutions, you must Invest your time to strengthen your relationship with your Maker. It is easier to jettision a resolution(s) than to make a resolution(s). Let how to strengthen your relationship with God influence achieving your other resolutions.

Let me mention three means of doing this :
1. Invest your time on meditating on the word of God. This will be of tremendous value. Joshua 1:8 declares,
"The book of the Law (The Holy Bible) shall not depart from
Your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night,
that you may observe to do according to all that is
Written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous
And then you will have good success."

It was not surprising that Jesus Christ, the Teacher Himself made it known to Martha, which takes the first position between service and and the word of God.
"Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things (Resolutions?)
But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not
Be taken away from her." John 10:41-42.

What was that part?

Verse 39 discloses
"And she (Martha) had a sister called Mary, who also sat at
Jesus' feet and heard His word."
Find time to hear, read and meditate on the word of Lord.

2. Action! The Holy Bible is not like any other literature books. You read and meditate on it with the aim of acting according to what you have heard or read.

You may come across certain verses too difficult for the flesh to abide by, pray and fast to crucify the flesh so that you can put it under the control of the Holy Spirit who gives enablement.
"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. Zechariah 4:6(c-d).
With the help of the Holy Spirit you can act according to God's instructions.

3. Please the Lord only! Subject your resolutions to amendment from the Lord. Otherwise, make those resolutions with Him. Let Him lead you to make your resolutions. Don't treat Him as a rubber stamp who must approve what you've purposed. Hear Jesus speaking in John 8:28-29,
"And He who sent Me is with Me. The Father has not left Me alone,
For I always do those things that please Him."
Do everything in His Holy name and you will never regret how you have invested each minute of the year 2016. Happy New Year!
