Never Knew You

"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness (Matthew 7:21-23 NKJV)!"

Hear the Messiah's tragic declaration.

"I never knew you; depart from Me (Matthew 7:23a NKJV)."

Imagine your parent or spouse disowning you and casting you away. It would break your heart. As awful as that would be, it does not come close to the rejection of the Redeemer.

Is His rejection justified?

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 'He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:16-18 NKJV)."

Condemned & cast away

Not everyone goes to heaven.

His warning compels each of us to carefully consider our personal relationships with him.
