Writing Is A Christian Heritage

by Greg Robbins
11/03/2016 / Writing

Writing is a Christian heritage. The reason is simple, we have a Bible which was written by men. Throughout history the believers in God have been writers. Not only did some of them write the Bible, but there are many thousands of other transcripts available that didn't make it into the Bible.

So Faith Writer's and Christian writing in general is a good thing. I like being a part of and of having a heritage of writing. I enjoy it. I also believe that my writing is limited to what gives God the glory. Whatever talent or lack thereof that I have I dedicate to the glory and honor of God.

In this twisted and upside down world in which we live where wrong is right and right is wrong, it is easy to lose track of the true path. I encourage all Christians who write to dedicate their writing to God's glory and to not use their talents for worldly gain.

I cannot imagine Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John writing articles for Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, or the Wall Street Journal. I am not condemning anyone who does write for these entities, I'm just pointing some things out.

In this modern world we have a curious thing going on. There is a gospel being preached which tells people that they can be "born again" without separating themselves from the world. And this just isn't what I find written in the Bible.

1 John 2:15-17 "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever."

John makes it very clear what the world is and the love of it. He also makes it very clear that those who love the world do not have the love of the Father in them. These are very somber words. There needs to be a separation from the things of this world. The is called repentance from sin and from sinful living.

Jesus made it clear that we have a cross to bear if we are to be his disciples. That he that saves his life shall lose it and he who loses his life for the sake of Jesus and the gospel shall find it. Give some serious thought to these things. Salvation depends upon imitating Jesus Christ and obeying his commands. He was God made flesh and God personally spoke, taught, preached, and commanded us how to live our lives if we desire to gain eternal life. So please heed the words that Jesus spoke.

Continue in the Christian heritage of writing for God's glory and honor. On the day that you enter into eternity you will be glad that you did so.
