If A Dead Friend Warned Me Of Hell,I would Repent?

by Stephen Vattimo
4/02/2017 / Christian Apologetics

I wrote this article in response a face book post that a christian had put up, The quote, " If the living knew what dead men know the world would follow Christ.
Luke 16:19-31

Chuck,I disagree with this statement. The rich man ask father Abraham to sent Lazarus back to the world of the living to warn the rich man's family about hell, less they end up in the same place of torment. Abraham told the rich main, that if the living don't believe Moses and the prophets ,they wont believe the testimony of a dead man. Scripture to support: 27 “He answered, ‘Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my family, 28 for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’

31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” I believe that in Jesus' ministry , The bible records that Jesus rose three people from the dead. The most famous was the resurrection of Jesus' friend Lazarus, Who the Jewish leaders plotted to kill. Be cause they were afraid that they would lose they control over the people, because the people who witness this miracle who follow Jesus. Supportive scripture : John 12:9-11 A large crowd of Jews learned that He was there [at Bethany]; and they came, not only because of Jesus, but also to see Lazarus, whom He had raised from the dead. 10 So the chief priests planned to kill Lazarus also,11 because on account of him many of the Jews were going away [from the teaching and traditions of the Jewish leaders] and believing in Jesus [following Him as Savior and Messiah]. When Jesus walk the earth, He minister love and the power of All mighty God among men and the religious leader who were suppose to be testifying Jesus to be the Messiah, had him handed up to heathen to be put to death for being an insurrectionist. Just as Pharaoh in Egypt defied God,even when God demonstrated His power over all creation through His plaques He brought against Egypt because Pharaoh would not let god's people go from slavery, So it will be the same situation during the tribulation period. The unbelieving will cruse God rather then repent as the mighty hand of God is demonstrated against the Earth for sinful man's sake. supportive scripture: 10Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 11and they blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores; and they did not repent of their deeds. Final conclusion, Today the world has the testimony of the bible,Presence ministry of the Holy Spirit , The deliverance from the dept of Sin,and from the power of sin through the Presence , and redemptive ministry of Jesus. If a man will reject these then they would repent of their sins and follow Christ. Written Stephen J. Vattimo April 1 201
