"I Got This!"

by Steve Countryman
7/17/2017 / Christian Living

So I’m sitting at the dining room table as I do in the mornings to read my bible.  I look over at a stack of some medical paperwork and my mind takes off worrying about all the medical bills, hospital bills and air evac bills that I’ll soon receive.  How am I going to pay them?  What’s going to happen next?  How much will the insurance cover?  From there my mind went to what’s going to happen when my wife gets home from the hospital?  What all will she need?  What am I going to do?  Panic was setting in.

Then the absolute best thing that could’ve happened, did!  I heard in my spirit “I got this!”  WOW!  Talk about feeling the weight of all your cares just melt away, that’s what happened!  I remember a commercial that used to be on a few months ago where someone needed some help and another person stepped up and told them “I got this” then took off to take care of it.  That’s what came to mind when I heard it.  Not only is God able, capable and willing but He will do it NOW!

It was a wave of assurance, hope, peace, faith and trust that flooded my spirit.  Suddenly ALL fear, doubt, hopelessness, dread and chaos were gone.  But it doesn’t end there.  Letting God do what He does best doesn’t replace the dedicated, committed, being in continual prayer that we His children are to do.

Yes we are to turn it all over to Jesus, to lay it at His feet, place it on His alter, put it in His lap but no where does it say in the bible that we are to negligent it, be lazy with it, apathetic or forgetful about it.  On the contrary, we are to be vigilant, committed, supportive and earnest about our troubles, problems, cares and petitions.  Bringing them up in prayer as part of your praise to your God shows the support, faith and trust that you have in Him!

It also applies to ALL of your prayers.  Once you pray for God’s help, rescue, healing, deliverance or restoration then you have to take it to the next level of praise and worship!  Doing so takes it from the supernatural and pulls it into the natural.  “Speak of those things that are not as if they were!”  It’s a wonderful time to count your blessings and thank God for them.  When it comes to your life God has an awesome track record and thanking Him for your blessings should be a daily thing!

Deuteronomy 28:2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, ( chase you down ), because you obey the voice of the Lord your God.”  Psalm 84:11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”  John 10:28-30 28 “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”

Knowing that God’s got this makes it easier to surrender it all over to Him!
