Life of the Flesh is in the Blood

The stream of life which runs through every woman and man

Is far more powerful then I can understand

God heard the voice of Abel's blood when he was slain

The earth cried out, and a curse was put on Cain

When the first blood of man was released becuse of hate and envy

Mankind became caught more in the grasp of the enemy

The blood, the life of the flesh, one should not eat

Satan defies this and his followers do drink

To this day countless cries have been heard

By a God who is still waiting for all His peoples return

God saw sin as death and long, long ago

Animal's life blood was used to atone for the soul

Year after year to cover sinners like you and me

For thousands of years the sacrifices flowed

God had a plan, in His Son the final offering would unfold

In human form He came and taught

That only through Him our sins could be bought

This time not the blood of a calf or a goat would cover our shame

But the blood of the Son of God would be used,

Our redemption to obtain

Behind the curtain of Christ's perfect blood I stand,

Blood from thorns,

From being whipped to the bone,

From nails and a spear in the side

His life did flow and all nature cried

As His life dripped on the gound

Darkness moved in, the earth shook with a deafening sound

The graves of Saints opened and to many they did appear

His blood is the life of the flesh, so do not fear

Today some in the Church teach,

Do not speak of the blood and the price

The members would rather hear words that are comfortably nice

Through the graciousness of His blood I'm redeemed and forgiven

I'm also protected, for satan can't keep me from heaven

Some believe gold, or silver will make them a child of the King

How can this happen when He owns everything

To walk in the Father's light and to fellowship with Him

First the blood of His Son must cleanse me from my sin

I've been washed, made clean and fresh

I'll never face the filth of a spiritual death

One day a new song will be sung by me and all creation

For Christ's blood has redeemed to God every seeking nation
