GOD-TRACKING IS TRACKING GOD’S WILL BY HIS WORD AND THROUGH PRAYER

“The will of God becomes obvious only by the application of the knowledge of God’s Word, through prayer. Acknowledge God in all your ways and seek him with all your heart in prayer, and you will be sure to walk squarely in the will of God.”

Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Our God is high and exalted. He is our Sovereign Majesty, his character is supreme, his power unlimited and his will is paramount. Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, when he was confronted by the will of God in Gethsemane, said, “Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” As GodTrackers, seeking and tracking the will of God in our lives may lead us to places of trial, but will always end up in victory. As in Jesus’ case, he set his will on the will of God, endured the cross, scorned its shame and wound up seated at the right hand of God in glory.

Sometimes God’s will is obvious to us. However, for the most part, the will of God seems difficult to track. Author, Elisabeth Elliot said, “The will of God is never exactly what you expect it to be. It may seem to be much worse, but in the end, it's going to be a lot better and a lot bigger.” Evangelist Daniel Kolenda said, “God's will is never revealed in such a way that it negates our need for dependence upon him.” God-tracking is all about seeking and remaining on track with the will of God, wherever that track may lead. Hindsight is wonderful. It’s very easy to look back on a trying situation and see the hand of God and identify his will through it. Yet, on this side of tomorrow, how do I know if I’m indeed, tracking the will and purposes of God?

God’s Word gives us a clue: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” And Jesus taught us to pray, “Father in heaven… your will be done on earth as it is done in heaven.” Therefore, seeking and tracking the will of God involves two practices: wisdom and prayer. Wisdom is applied knowledge. Knowledge comes by the Word of God. Scripture also says, “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God.” God’s Word (the Bible) is our map to the treasure of God’s will. Making life’s choices based on the teachings of Scripture is wise. And wisdom also ensues from prayer. The will of God becomes obvious only by the application of knowledge by God’s Word, through prayer. So, acknowledge God in all your ways and seek him with all your heart in prayer, and you will be sure to walk squarely in the will of God. And this takes faith!

God-tracking is tracking God’s will by his Word, through prayer.

DON’T GIVE UP, LOOK UP & PRAY

Give me godly wisdom to discern your purposes and make the most of every opportunity

“Dear Lord, help me to always seek and remain in your will for my life. I know your will is not always a, so called, bed of roses, but I know all things work out for the good of those who are called according to your purposes. So, I commit my future to you. I commit my plans to you. I commit my trials and difficulties to you. I acknowledge in all my ways, seek your Word and pray your will be done in my life as it is done in heaven. Give me godly wisdom to discern your purposes and make the most of every opportunity. Lord, I trust you to work out all things in my life according to your perfect will. Amen.”
