In Our Old Age

Feeling your age?

You’re not alone. As senior citizens, we enjoy benefits at restaurants hotels and stores. Yet, aging also has its setbacks.

Feeling feeble?

I have good news. Though we may get feeble, the Father is always faithful. Don’t give up; hope in Him.

“For You are my hope, Lord God,
my confidence from my youth.
I have leaned on You from birth;
You took me from my mother’s womb.
My praise is always about You (Psalm 71:5-6 HCSB).”

Praise His name. He is with His children in their old age.

“My mouth is full of praise
and honor to You all day long.

Don’t discard me in my old age;
as my strength fails, do not abandon me (Psalm 71:8-9 HCSB).” 

He will not abandon us.

“Even when I am old and gray,
God, do not abandon me.
Then I will proclaim Your power
to another generation,
Your strength to all who are to come (Psalm 71:18 HCSB).”

Abandon us? No, never.

“… for He Himself has said, I will never leave you or forsake you. Therefore, we may boldly say:

The Lord is my helper;
I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me (Hebrews 13:5-6 HCSB).”

Men might say the old are no longer productive in society. God cherishes us; He is faithful.

“I will be the same until your old age,
and I will bear you up when you turn gray (Isaiah 46:4 HCSB).”
