SEEKING THE DIVINE DAILY

by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE
5/21/2019 / Devotionals

Scriptural Reading: Amos 5:4-6

‘That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:’ Acts 17:27 (KJV)

Before the conversion of my late grandma to Christianity, she was a pagan. On a yearly basis then, we travelled to her home town to host the spirit of her ancestors. I was her representative that always threw white chalk to the spirits and to serve them their prepared food. A little and innocent boy I was then and I was so attached to her. God arrested her and she discarded those practices that negated the word of God and she became a devoted Christian, and she sought the Lord on a daily basis, and each time she wanted to pray, she would always kneel down before God. Prior to her demise, she told my mum that she saw our house filled with people that wore white in her dream and I am sure she was talking about the angels. She died peacefully in Christ.

God wants us to seek Him so that we would have access to eternal life and He does not want us to seek any other medium except Him alone, otherwise, His wrath will come upon us. Those who seek God are never far from God and God is never far from them either.

The living God is a jealous father and He is after the welfare of our souls. When we seek after Him, there is hope for a transition to glory in Heaven after this life. As we seek God, He would begin to direct us, protect us, provide for us and shield us from all forms of evil.

Do we know that when we seek God, He will show up for us at all times? The answer is YES. We have to make out time for God on a daily basis to study His word and to pray, standing in the gap for others as well. We can also hold on to this anchor scripture and apply it always in our prayers for God to give us the grace to seek Him on a daily basis. Proverbs 8:17 (KJV) I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

Dear God, help me and my family to seek you on a daily basis and not to seek mere mortals for help, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Those who seek God are stronger than those who seek mere mortals.
