Thought:  What would it have been like to be in your great grandmothers school room?  What lessons would be taught for the day?  In a 1691 second edition of a New England Primer we can find the answer.  This little book was used to teach colonial area children the alphabet.

  A-Adams fall, we all sinned..B-Heaven to find, the Bible mind..C-Christ crucify'd for sinners dy'd..D-The deluge drown'd the Earth around..E-Elijah hid by ravens fed..F-The judgment made Felix afraid..G-As runds the glass our life doth pass..H-My book and heart must never part..J-Job feels the rod, yet blesses God..K-Proud Korah's troop was swallowed up..L-Lot fled to Zoar, saw fiery shower on Sodom pour..M-Moses was he who Israel's host led thro' the sea..N-Noah did view the old world & new..O-YYoung Obadias David, Josias all were pious..P-Peter deny'd his Lord and cry'd..Q-Queen Esther sues and saves the Jews..R-Young pious Ruth, left all for Truth..S-Young Sam'l dear the Lord did fear..T-Young Timothy learnt sin to fly..V-Vasthi for pride, was set aside..W-Whales in the sea, God's voice obey..X-Xerxes did die, and so must I..Y-While youth do chear death may be near..Z-Zaccheus he did climb the tree our Lord to see.

My, how things have changed.  Eisenhower in the 60's commissioned the teaching of evolution in all academia institutions.  Around the same time Madalyn O-Hair accomplished the taking bibles out of classrooms and today to accept biblical Truths as a guideline for moral living is now considered a hate crime.  If our nation continues to remove God from this nation we invite his judgment to come down upon it.  

As believers we need to pray for an awakening to God's Word and moral laws and a revival in the hearts and minds of it's people.  The Lord is coming soon to restore all things back to what he intended in the beginning before our first parents sinned against Him.  Put Jesus first place in your life and go out and share this good news of Salvation with others. This was God's great commission for all of us.   Maranatha

Prayer:  Father God,  I pray for the people of this country who have turned their backs on you.  Send a revival soon so they may fulfill your purpose and restore this nation to wholeness.  Amen

Verse: II Chron. 7:14 "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear and heal their land."
