Worship God by Doing Good

“And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased,” says Hebrews 13:16.

Most of us think of “worship” as turning on Christian music and singing to the LORD. That is one of the highest forms of worship, when we praise Him from our hearts!

There are many ways to worship the true God, Jesus. When I read Hebrews 13:16, I rejoiced, for the LORD showed me when His people do good deeds and share our blessings, we worship Him.

It is His Spirit in action, and the LORD gets glory. 

So, pray and ask the LORD how to worship Him by doing a good deed. It won’t get you into Heaven--for only your faith in the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross for your sins and His resurrection can do that (John 3:16)—but helping others and sharing what God gives you, shows others that He is good.

Some examples of worshiping the LORD by doing good deeds are: praying for others; praying with others; giving (to others the LORD shows you to give to--you can ask Him for wisdom on this) something you have that they really need, so they can be supplied (whether money, or help with the kids, or a material possession, or food, or clothing,etc.); finding something true and nice to say to others to encourage them; smiling at them, especially if they look sad or mad. 

There are many ways to bless others, and the LORD Who knows all things and all people will help you understand exactly what you can do to show the goodness of God to others, which will help lead them to repentance of their sins so they can also believe in the LORD Jesus Christ and have eternal life (John 3:15-17, Romans 10:13). 

Blessing others also earns rewards for you in Heaven!

Behold, I am coming soon, and I shall bring My wages and rewards with Me, to repay and render to each one just what his own actions and his own work merit. (Revelation 22:12, AMPC)

Besides that, you’ll feel great, because like Proverbs 19:22 (AMP) states, “That which is desired in a man is loyalty and kindness [and his glory and delight are his giving]… ”
