Put On Your Armor

Ephesians 6:11 (AMPC) says, "¹¹ Put on God’s whole armor [the armor of a heavy-armed soldier which God supplies], that you may be able successfully to stand up against [all] the strategies and the deceits of the devil."

If you have made the ultra-wise decision to ask the LORD Jesus into your heart to be your Savior, then you have joined the Service! You have become a soldier in God’s army, and He has given you special armor to wear, called the Armor of Light.

This armor is spiritual, which means you cannot see it. But it is very real!

The different pieces of armor are listed in Ephesians 6:10-18. The armor includes most things soldiers have: a helmet, a belt, a breastplate, special shoes, a shield, and a sword. Verse 18 also mentions prayer, which also gives us protection.

You can put on your armor every day, by quoting these Scriptures. These are mighty words that King Jesus, the Captain of our Salvation, the God of the Angel-Armies, has given us; mighty armor to wear so we can be wise against the enemy’s plans and block and stop his every move.

So gear up, soldier, and know that in King Jesus, you have the victory!

Once you receive Christ Jesus as your Savior and LORD, you are given the Armor. Put each piece on--you can each out loud as you do--and then never take the Armor off. 

Each piece of The Armor is necessary and powerful--(1) The Belt of Truth; (2) The Shoes of the Gospel of Peace; (3) the Breastplate of Righteousness; (4) The Helmet of Salvation; (5) The Shield of Faith; (6) The Helmet of Salvation and the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God.

The passage also exhorts us to pray on every occasion in the Spirit. 

Ask the LORD for greater understanding and application of the Armor! He will help you!
