OBEDIENCE    Part 2

Happy Sabbath to All

By Paul Taylor

Zechariah 1:3 Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of host

In my last post, Part 1, we learned how, through the scripture,  the seventh day Sabbath is a very special and Holy day to God, and it is His desire, and command that we keep it in obedience to His will; Jesus said,  “If you Love Me Keep MY Commandments John 14:15, that we can be called His own as  He pleads with us in  Isaiah 56 & Isaiah 58 to honor this one day out of 7.

Isaiah 56:5-6 Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that KEEPETH THE SABBATH from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Isaiah 58:13-14 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words: 14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

The majority of churches and denominations today keep the first day of the week (Sunday), and reject God’s Holy seventh day, following the traditions as set down by man, which began in earnest in 321AD with the edict of Constantine 1 and then followed by the Roman Catholic Church around 364AD, with their decree and command to keep Sunday as the Sabbath rather than Saturday the true Sabbath of God.

Jesus rebuked the religious leaders of His time for following the traditions and commandments of men, just as the people are following man’s traditions and commandments today, the same applies to us;

8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. (Isa 29:13)

Many teach that the laws of the Old Testament no longer apply, that Jesus nailed them to the cross; agreed, Jesus nailed the ceremonial laws of the sacrificial offerings to the cross, not God’s law (The Ten Commandments), and Jesus makes this clear in Matthew 5:17-19 declaring that until Heaven and Earth perish, not one jot or tittle will pass from the law. Folks God’s laws are still in effect today and by denying them and following the traditions of men you are putting yourself in jeopardy of being tossed into the Lake of Fire, by showing disobedience to the God you claim to honor and follow.

Most denominations agree that Saturday is the true Biblical Sabbath day, but refuse to teach and or keep it in accordance with God’s commands, rather keeping the traditions and commandments of man. Here are a few quotes you may find interesting concerning the commandments and traditions of man in relation to God’s commands, as to the changing of the Sabbath from the 7th day to the 1st day; You  decide who’s right, and whom you will follow, GOD or man.

Prove to me from the Bible alone that I am bound to keep Sunday holy. There is no such law in the Bible. It is the law of the holy Catholic Church alone. The Bible says “Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.” The Catholic Church says no. By my divine power I abolish the Sabbath day and command you to keep holy the first day of the week. And lo! The entire civilized world bows down in reverent obedience to the command of the Holy Catholic Church—Thomas Enright, CSSR, President, Redemptorist  College (Roman Catholic), Kansas City, Mo., Feb.18,1864

If protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath {Saturday}. In keeping the Sunday they are following the law of the Catholic Church. -Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, replying for the Cardinal in a letter of February 10,1920

Sunday is our MARK of authority… The Church is above the Bible, and the transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact….Catholic Record, September 1, 1923 (Ontario)

There was and is a commandment to ”keep holy the Sabbath Day”.., but that day was not Sunday…There is no scriptural evidence of the change of the Sabbath institution from the seventh day to the first day of the week” ( Edward T.Hiscox, The Baptist Manual)

Folks this is only a smidgen of the hundreds of quotes relating to the changing of God’s law, and a glimpse of the deceptions in the Christian Churches today by the very people calling themselves Christian and  following right along with these deceptions, hook, line,  and sinker straight to the Lake of Fire. We are in the final days of earths history and God is pleading with His people to “ Come out of Her MY People,(Rev.18:4)”

Folks, open your Bibles and begin to study God’s word for yourself, seeking the truth, and God will open the way leading you to the truth, and away from the deceptions being taught in the Christian churches of today.

May God add a blessing and open the eyes of the blind to His word.
