How To Fertilise Your Marriage.

by Olawale Ogunsola
5/14/2020 / Marriage

"Every wise woman buildeth her house but the foolish

plucketh it down with her hands." Proverbs 14:1. King James Version.
Since creation, Creator had introduced division of labour into the system of running the universe. He has his own roles to play, He never failed to act well His part anytime, anyway and in anyplace. He also does this by any means He choses. He is unquestionable.
In His infinite wisdom, the Lord apportioned roles to be played by mankind who He had created. He will never allow man to perform His role, he has not the resources to do so. In the same way, He will not condescend so low to take over the responsibilities assigned to man. Everyone to his own roles.
It was the Lord who is the Author of marriage. He initiated and helps in maintaining it. You can read about the birth of the first home in the book of Genesis 2:4:25.
However, a negative twist was introduced into marriage by the fall of man in the garden of Eden in Genesis chapter 3. This was how troubles started in the lives of mankind. Since that time, so many twists have been introduced that reduced marriage or a home to a "Tolerating Center" rather than a "Place of comfort" or a "Place of pleasure". In many homes, comfort, pleasure, joy and happiness have all evaporated into the thin air.
The land of many homes have become barren, and the trees (man, woman & children) planted in it are fruitfulless. Let me remind you of the areas where the Lord expect man to be fruitful. This is contained in Genesis 1:28 thus,
"Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and
subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over
the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon
the earth." King James Version.
Now, let's us "limit" our discussion here to "Be fruitful, and multiply" A barren land does not give room for fruitfulness and multiplication. There is no way trees on such land yield as the Lord had commanded. They will disappoint God and He will not be glad with them.
To God be the glory, for every barren land, there is a way out. There is a solution. When Jesus spoke of a proverb on a fig tree without fruits, the owner wanted to cut it down the gardener said,
"Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it and dung it.
And if it bear fruit, well: and after that thou shall cut it down. Luke 13:8-9. KJV.
Have you examined your life and home? Is there any area where it is not bearing fruits at all or the fruits are sour? Is it bearing diminishing fruits each day. Do not lose any hope. You can fertiliser the land of your home. No matter the extent of its barrenness, there is a fertiliser that can take care of it. You only need to know it, get and apply same. The result will be amazing.
How do you know the source of the right fertiliser?
1. Search the Scriptures. Do not be a stranger to the Word of life. It contains every solution to every problem. Searching it will point the right fertiliser to the land of your home to you. Knowing it will call for applying it. By then you will prosper your way, Joshua 1:8.
2. Counsellor(s): Contacting wise and experienced counsellors can assist in identifying the right fertiliser for the land of your home. Experience is the best teacher., what counsellors have gathered can be of great value to making your home fruitful.
3. Books: Books are on bookshelves for sale. Walk into any bookstore to procure good books that can point the right fertiliser to you. Going through it can greatly help you out. What you are going through have been experienced by others before you. These experiences are recorded in certain books, obtain them.
4. Prayer. A Christ Apostolic Church Hymn says that "we lose many opportunities and suffer great pain for our failure to present everything to Him in prayer. Have you noticed that your home land is barren? Trees on this land are unfruitful? Speak to the Lord about it. What will your prayer be? Simply ask Him.
"Lord, what do you want me to do? Confirm an answer to such question in Acts 9:6-18. You will surely receive an answer. Go ahead and apply the fertiliser.
The next thing is to ask yourself," Am I ready to fertilise the land of my home?
Be sure of this, "Whoso keepeth the fig-tree shall eat the fruit thereof, so he that waited on his master shall be honoured." Proverbs 28:18.
"Wisdom is the principal thing" make use of wisdom, it is the fertiliser that you need to improve the productivity of all trees on the land of your home.
Stay blessed and prepared to meet the Lord.
