Songs of Thanksgiving

Through the past couple decades, the LORD has given me many "Spirit songs," and I want to share a few with you that are songs of Thanksgiving.

Therefore I will give thanks to You among the nations, O Lord, And I will sing praises to Your name. --Psalm 18:49

I will sing to the Lord, Because He has dealt bountifully with me. --Psalm 13:6. These are just two verses that talk about singing. It is a supernatural, and can be natural, response to the goodness of God. When our hearts are light, we often sing! We love to sing along to music we like, especially if it makes us feel good. Little children sing with no shame, and how much more should we children of God sing thanks to our darling Daddy God, the King!

Many scholars believe that our LORD Elohim--the Creator--sang the universe into existence! How cool is that?!

Now, here are a few of my songs. They are to be sung thankfully (of course!), joyfully, confidently! They have a fast beat, but sing them as the LORD leads you!

1. Psalm 126:3--The LORD Has Done Great Things For Us

The LORD has done great things for us,
And we are full of joy!

And greater are to co-ome!

Through His awesome Holy One!

He's led us into bat-tle
Assured the victory

He's clothed us with robes of His pure Blood
And set us wholly FREE!

(2) Psalm 23:5--You Treat Us To a Feast!

(I like to snap my fingers and smile really big while I sing this, over and overe, getting all the more joyful as I sing the Scripture and start remembering even a couple of the wonderful things God has done for me!)

You treat us to a feast while our enemies watch!

As you've noticed, these songs are very simple. God does simple! He has given me many songs that are much more complex, and He likes them too--but the real deal is that He wants worship from the heart, not just us mouthing words. (Of course, sometimes when we start singing, like at church, we don't feel like we are worshiping, and we may even be distracted thinking about many other things besides God at first. That is one of the main reasons we sing praise and worship songs before the preaching--to clear our minds off the things of the world and our day and ourselves, and to set our minds on the LORD and how good He is and how worthy of our worship!
