9. BLESSED (An extract from 'The Names of the Believers in the Bible in Types and Symbols' )

      Jesus, the Son of God is called “the blessed and only potentate, the King of Kings, and Lord of Lords” 1Timothi 6:15.  But every child of God is also called blessed one of God, for God “hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ”   Ephesians 1:3

See Matthew 5:3-11 (known as Beatitude)

 

       “Blessed are the poor in Spirit…”

 

       “Blessed are they that mourn…” 

       “Blessed are the meek…”

       “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness….”

      “Blessed are the merciful…..”

       “Blessed are the pure in heart….”

       “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake…”

 

      “Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.” Also see Romans 4:7, 8; Matthew 25:34; Luke 13:35; Matthew 21:9, 23.
