WE HAVE AN INTERCESSOR

Thought:  Have you ever gotten to a point in your prayer life that you are at a loss for words as you pray for a loved one?  I have and found an intercessor who prays for me.  He’s found in Romans 8:26-28 “And in the same way—by our faith—the Holy spirit helps us with our daily problems and in our praying.  For we don’t even know what we should pray for, nor how to pray as we should; but the Holy Spirit prays for us with such feeling that it cannot be expressed in words.  And the Father who knows all hearts knows, of course, what the Spirit is saying as he pleads for us in harmony with God’s own will.  And we know that all that happens to us is working for our good if we love God and are fitting into his plans.”

Plans for our day-to-day living were all laid out even before we took our first breath.  How many of us live in those plans on a daily basis?  Do we ask God in the beginning of our day “WHATS THE PLANS, LORD?”  Or do we go about our usual day on our own plans?  If that’s the way our daily living goes, we’ll have a lot to answer to on Judgement Day.  What are we missing out by doing our own thing?

First of all, the joy of Jesus presence and his walk side by side. There are even times when he picks us up when we feel weak or tired.  Then we see only two footprints in the sand.

Second, the plan that Jesus had for us each day.  Who knows what exciting things He has planned for us.   Walking with Jesus day by day is always an adventure.  If you want excitement in your life walk with Jesus, he’ll lead you in the right direction and to the right people every time to share the gospel of Salvation.

Third, we miss out on the hope He has for us in the next life.  Some will say, “don’t get ahead of yourself and worry about next week or next month.”  Jesus tells us to look forward to that day when our redemption is complete.  He’s waiting to give us those new eternal bodies that will never decay and a new home he has prepared for us.  Believers are Royalty, children of the coming King Jesus.  No matter what were going through we can and should look forward to what Jesus has waiting for us.  This should give us the strength and courage to make it through the hard times that life throws at us. It also helps are faith to grow strong as we depend on our Lord to provide what we need.  Even when our faith grows weak His Word tells us in II Timothy 2:13 “Even when we are too weak to have any faith left, he remains faithful to us and will help us, for he cannot disown us who are part of himself, and he will always carry out his promises to us.”  This tells me He will never leave us alone.  What an encouragement this is when troubles come and we reach out to him in faith.  In these troublesome dark times we need to walk even closer to our master, Savior and King.

Prayer:  Father God, thank you for these assurances I have when I feel weak and lonely.  You will always be there for me and sometimes even carry me through these difficult times.  Amen

Verse:  Romans 15:4-5 “ These things that were written in the Scriptures so long ago are to teach us patience and to encourage us, so that we will look forward expectantly to the time when God will conquer sin and death. V.5 May God who gives patience, steadiness and encouragement help you to live in complete harmony with each other—each with the attitude of Christ toward the other
