From Sordid to Sacred

by Tonja Taylor

So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.--2 Timothy 2:21, AMPC

I heard a well-known preacher state that, when Adam fell in the Garden, he put the entire human population forever into the pawn shop--and that we have to have a redeeming ticket to be bought back/freed.

Before you met Jesus (or even after, by not knowing and obeying the Word, and thus getting deceived and involved in the worldly and demonic junk--ask me how I know!), you obeyed the devil (there are only truly two forces in the world: Jesus and evil!)--put yourself in the pawn shop. Then you went through a lot of junk God (Who is good and all good!) never wanted you to experience. You had to repent and ask the LORD to help pull you out of the miry pits (which represent strongholds of darkness), as Ephesians 5:8-11 states:

8 For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light 9 (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) 10 and find out what pleases the Lord. 11 Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.

The Blood of Jesus Christ (The Lamb of God!) is that "ticket"--for we could not be redeemed with silver and gold , nor the blood of bulls and goats. HALLELUJAH!!

Are you constantly feeling guilty, and perhaps acting in ways you know are not what you're supposed to be doing as a Believer in the LORD Jesus Christ?

Take courage (be encouraged), because, if you truly believed in Jesus as your Savior and LORD, then you have the sweet, all-knowing Holy Spirit (Who is God; Who is the Spirit of Truth--John 16:13) within you, helping you to realize that some things in your life are against His Word, and need to be changed.
He is the One Who helps us realize and make proper changes--from wrong thinking and acting (ignoble, dark, evil, carnal, worldy) to right (righteous) thinking and acting (noble, reputable, excellent, holy, godly, worthy, true) in ways that please and bring glory (honor) to God. Hallelujah!

The worshipers who once purged, have no more remembrance of past sins. (Hebrews 10:2, NKJV)  When He purges (forgives, cleanses) us, He also can wash our memories from wrong deeds, for truly, the old person did them, and once we come into Christ Jesus, that old person dies and the new creation rises (II Corinithians 5:17)! Hallelujah!

Therefore if any person is [ingrafted] in Christ (the Messiah) he is a new creation (a new creature altogether); the old [previous moral and spiritual condition] has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come! --- 2 Corinthians 5:17, AMPC

Also, Jesus took the shame and condemnation at the cross, and broke the power of those demonic things (Romans chapter 8, Galatians 3, and more!). He took our junk and gave us His Robe of Righteousness. Hallelujah!

20 For no person will be justified (made righteous, acquitted, and judged acceptable) in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law. For [the real function of] the Law is to make men recognize and be conscious of sin [not mere perception, but an acquaintance with sin which works toward repentance, faith, and holy character]....22 Namely, the righteousness of God which comes by believing with personal trust and confident reliance on Jesus Christ (the Messiah). [And it is meant] for all who believe. For there is no distinction,--Romans 3:20, 22, AMPC

Our faith in the blood of Jesus has made us right with Father God, Who is holy, and provided eternal peace (Shalom--nothing broken, nothing missing) for us. Hallelujah!

Jesus is our holy, perfect, spotless High Priest, Who ever lives to intercede (pray to Father God, Jehovah) for us. Hallelujah!

25 Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him, since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them. 26 [Here is] the High Priest [perfectly adapted] to our needs, as was fitting—holy, blameless, unstained by sin, separated from sinners, and exalted higher than the heavens.--Hebrews 7:25, 26, AMPC

Once we are cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb upon receiving Christ Jesus as Savior and LORD, we truly are acceptable to God. He becomes our Father, Jesus our Brother, High Priest, and Defender and Friend (and much more, but I've got to finish this article!).

The Blood of Jesus continously cleanses us from all unrighteousness, and we are forever accepted and beloved by our darling Daddy God, Jehovah, Who adores us and delights in us, amen!

We worship Him, and He helps us truly realize that, we worshipers, once purged from the penalty of our sins, have no more remembrance of them. As Hebrews 10:2 (NKJV) says, For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins.

He cleanses our consciences and helps us to forget the past sins--ours, and others'!

He helps us realize that, from the moment we repent and receive Him, He covers us with His holy blood. He transforms us from sordid to sacred. He translates us in the spirit from darkness to Light, from the kingdom of evil to the eternal, glorious, victorious Kingdom of Light of the LORD Jesus Christ!

Hallelujah!

So if you have been walking in darkness--even as a Believer--then say this prayer out loud, and the LORD will bring you light (Revelation, Truth): Dear LORD, I confess not following You as I should have, and ask You to forgive me of every sin, and come into my heart and be my Savior and LORD and Best Friend. I love You and know that You love me. Thank You for Your faithfulness and mercy. You give me every breath, and I know Your plans are good, as Jeremiah 29:11 and many more verses say. I want Your wonderful will. Thank You so much. In Jesus' name I ask this and receive. Amen!
