Run to the Father's Throne of of Grace!

by Tonja Taylor
1/19/2022 / Christian Living

Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God’s unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].—Hebrews 4:16, AMPC

The moment we receive Christ Jesus, God's Son, as our Savior and LORD, we become God's children--part of His Royal Family!

From that point, we have the right to approach the King--our Daddy--on His Throne of Grace, to receive Mercy and Grace to help us! Hallelujah!

Just like any child who runs to her parents, expecting them to do something to help them, we can run to our Father, Daddy God, and know that He not only will hear us, but He will act!

14 And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us. 15 And if (since) we [positively] know that He listens to us in whatever we ask, we also know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that we have [granted us as our present possessions] the requests made of Him.—I John 5:14-15, AMPC

How great and awesome, merciful, faithful, and gracious is our God, Who is Love (I John 4:8)!

“…that we may receive mercy (for our failures) and find grace to help…”

What is mercy? What is grace?

I have heard “Mercy” described as not getting what we should get (punishment for sin, for rebellion against God’s laws), because Jesus paid the price over 2,000 years ago—so we don’t have to (We couldn’t pay it anyway!)! Hallelujah!

I have heard “Grace” described as the empowerment to do the right thing; to resist sin and believe God, and do what He’s anointed us to do (so that all may know Him on earth, and come into His Kingdom).

So Hallelujah! Our Father God is for us (He is for every person on the planet. He is the King, the LORD of all, and He is Love (I John 4:8). He knows and has told us the righteous way to live, through His holy, living, unchanging Word. Hallelujah.

So, if we want the benefits of the Kingdom, we must agree with and obey the King. Even then in our disobedience and ignorance, His Grace and Mercy are so much greater than all our sin! Hallelujah!

One well-respected pastor stated that our sin does not change God’s mind nor plan for us. Hallelujah!

He never changes His minds about us, because the LORD is full of mercy and grace!

And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord! the Lord! a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abundant in loving-kindness and truth,--Exodus 34:6, AMPC

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; for His mercy and loving-kindness endure forever.—Psalm 136:1, AMPC

Just like when our dear kiddos come running up to us—even covered in mud or other mess—we receive them and listen to them, because we love them and want to help them.

How much more does our Father God, our Abba Father, Who is Love; Hesed; Agape; receive us and hear us and love us and help us! So run to Him and let Him help you today!

And because you [really] are [His] sons, God has sent the [Holy] Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, Abba (Father)! Father!Galatians 4:6, AMPC

For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!Romans 8:15, AMPC
