Miraculous Visit

Jesus called Peter to discipleship.

“And Jesus, walking by the Sea of Galilee, saw two brothers, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea; for they were fishermen. Then He said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.’ They immediately left their nets and followed Him (Matthew 4:18-22 NKJV).”

Jesus posed a serious question to His disciples. Who did they think He was?

“Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16 NKJV).”

Christ blessed Peter and gave him a new name.

“Jesus answered and said to him, ‘Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:17-18 NKJV).”

Peter misspoke when Jesus foretold His arrest, death and resurrection.

“Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!’

But He turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind Me, Satan! You are an offense to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men (Matthew 16:22b-23 NKJV).”

Peter pledged his faithfulness; yet, Jesus said he would deny him three times. (Matthew 26:33-35).  It came true. (Matthew 26:69-75)

The Son of man restored their relationship; He extended a second call. (John 21:15-19)

Simon Peter had a miraculous visit from Jesus after His resurrection.

“The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon (Luke 24:34b NKJV)!”

I wonder what they talked about.
