One With The Name

by Tonja Taylor
5/08/2022 / Christian Living

Through study in the Bible school in which I am enrolled, I have recently learned more deeply this glorious fact: I am one with The Name of Jesus, our LORD! Hallelujah! What a tremendous and weighty honor, to be trusted by The King!

Although I have worked through the years in various industries, representing those companies as I purchased things or validated certain documents, a recent event in my life helped me understand more deeply the power of a name.

“Just tell them Tyna sent you,” said my friend, a sister in Christ and fellow church member. She was recently retired from the local JDC, where she had worked for years as a supervisor. “You shouldn’t have any problem getting the stuff.”

With faith that my friend knew what she was talking about, I headed for the juvenile detention center. The lone female guard seemed relaxed. There was no one else around.

“Tyna told me to pick up the six boxes of Bibles,” I said.

The guard nodded. “I think they’re over here,” she said, and motioned for me to come behind the counter.

She didn’t ask my name. She didn’t ask to see my driver’s license. She didn’t wave a wand over me, or ask me to empty my pockets.

I hid my surprise, and as Tyna had told me, there were six unopened boxes of Bibles, and a partial box too. Before I could pick one up, she said, “I’ll call a guard and a couple of the boys, and they will load them for you.”

“Great!” I said, rejoicing inside. Wow, God, you’re making this so easy! I thought.

I went to unlock the trunk, and turned around to see the male guard and two young teen boys carrying boxes.  When I asked, they said they knew Jesus (The Name!), so I shook their hands and told them they were helping send His Good News around the world. I said, “God bless you!” which was also an empowerment for which I was privileged—the power to bless in His Name.

The boys smiled really big, and seemed truly glad.

As I drove away, I said out loud, “Wow! If the name of Tyna will get me more than six boxes of new Bibles, plus help to load them--no questions asked--how much more will the all-powerful Name of Jesus get me?”

Hallelujah!

So when I walked into that facility, it was like Tyna herself entering—because I used her name.

It was the power and respect of her name that got me those Bibles, not my “nameless” self!

So this has helped me better understand the power of the Name of Jesus!          I

Indeed, I have used that name many times, in many situations, but I know there is more--much more. I am excited about the much more that the LORD is revealing to me—how to use the Name of Jesus to attain the total restoration that is mine!

What a privilege to be given the Name of The LORD of Three Worlds, as Apostle Tracy Harris has stated!

“Heaven, earth, and hell recognize what Jesus did. All that Jesus did, all the authority, all the power, all of His achievements are in His name. And the Name on our lips will work the same things now as it did then.”1

What a privilege to be one with The Name above all names! What an honor to one with Him; to be able to wield the all-power Name of the King, which is part of our royal birthright! “And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us a]">[a]joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One” (Eph. 2:6)2

We are one with The Name; Jesus is above everything and everyone, in every realm that exists:  10 “And you are in Him, made full and having come to fullness of life [in Christ you too are filled with the Godhead—Father, Son and Holy Spirit—and reach full spiritual stature]. And He is the Head of all rule and authority [of every angelic principality and power].(Col. 2:10)3

So, just as I had authority to represent a company and conduct transactions—and even to allow or disallow certain other legal actions, whether other people liked it or not; and as I had the authority and right to walk into the JDC to acquire the Bibles with ease and no cost on my part, how much more do I have the legal right and authority to use the almighty Name of Jesus to conduct the business of the Kingdom on the earth!

I am one with The Name, part of the Body of Christ, as Ephesians chapter 1 states:  22 And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], 23 Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].” (Eph. 1:22-23)4

Being one with The Name requires deep commitment, intentional honor, and consistent responsibility. I believe this is reflected in Colossians 1:23:

23 [And this He will do] provided that you continue to stay with and in the faith [in Christ], well-grounded and settled and steadfast, not shifting or moving away from the hope [which rests on and is inspired by] the glad tidings (the Gospel), which you heard and which has been preached as being designed for and offered without restrictions] to every person under heaven, and of which [Gospel] I, Paul, became a minister. (Col. 1:23)5

It all comes down to this: Jesus is The Name that we must have and utilize to walk victoriously in this world. His Name is our Refuge, our strong tower. His Name is our very Life; the Light, the Revelation.

His Name is the Living Word—Scripture. So, in unison and as the true Ecclesia, we say, “Tota et sola scriptura: Our final allegiance is to all of Scripture, and only Scripture.”

Our final allegiance is to our glorious, victorious covenant King, the Great I AM, with Whom we are one—The Name!
