FEAR

Thought:  How do we describe the emotion called “fear”?  The dictionary defines it as an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or threat.  The Bible describes it as the fear of God through respect, reverence, and worship.  This kind of fear banishes anxieties, worries and fear of death.  There are 365 references to fear in the Bible. Having a clear understanding of who God is helps to have victory over fear through faith.  Christ is the creator of all there is who by his power holds everything together (Col.1:16).  Through His power, why wouldn’t we trust in His love and wisdom to bring us through any kind of circumstances we would face in life?” Heb 2:14,15 “Since we, God’s children, are human beings—made of flesh and blood—he became flesh and blood too by being born in human form, for only as a human being could he die and in dying break the power of the devil who had the power of death.  Only in that way could he deliver those who through fear of death have been living all their lives as slaves to constant dread.”

Seven things in life that can cause us to fear:

  1. Poverty 2. Success and failure 3. Criticism 4. Sickness 5. Losing a loved one
  2. Old age 7. Death

Out of all these seven things I believe death is the most prominent.  When we fear death, it becomes a controlling factor.  We see this in the recent covid scare that put thousands under its power to obey the leadership.  How do we fight fear as God’s children?  Faith is the victor over fear.  When we have the power that holds everything together (Christ within) why wouldn’t we trust in the One who loves us enough to die for us, giving us the free gift of forgiveness and eternal life.  When we meet death, it doesn’t mean the end of our existence.  Our Spirit is eternal and there are only two places of destination--Heaven or Hell. Satan and his hoard of demons are extremely active in the world today.  We witness his deeds all around us every day.  Without hope for a better future, we succumb to anxieties and fear.  Jesus promises a bright future for all those who place their faith in Him.  It’s called the Golden Age when he reigns as King over the whole world for 1,000 years.  Life does not end in death, but your destination depends on the choice you make, heaven or hell.  Today is the day of Salvation.  If you have not made that choice for Christ yet, do it now and ask Him into your life.  The world might look like it's fall apart but it’s just falling into place prophetically.  He’s coming for His children soon before judgment falls on an unbelieving world.  Don’t be left behind

Prayer:  Father God, you offer the free gift of Salvation because you have already paid the price for our sins.  Help those who still have to make that decision so they will not suffer the judgments to come in the tribulation.  Give them enlightenment as to who you are what you’ve done for them.  Amen

Verse:  John 1:1-3—12,13 “Before anything else existed, there was Christ, with God.  He has always been alive and is himself God.  He created everything there is—nothing exists that he didn’t make.  Eternal life is in him, and this life gives light to all mankind.  V. 12,13 But to all who received him, he gave the right to become children of God.  All they needed to do was to trust him to save them.  All those who believe this are reborn—not physical rebirth—resulting from human passion or plan—but from the will of God.”
