Share the Wealth: No Strings Attached

Jesus shared the wealth--no strings attached!

I believe that's the way we are to do it, and recently, the LORD gave me a simple strategy to share the wealth of Christian books and teaching and worship CDs and DVDs in my city.

Many church members and I had gathered Christian books, CDs, DVDs, partner letters, magazines, and more to send across the sea. The virus hit, but the LORD showed us to take part of that wealth and share it locally.

So here is the cool strategy He gave me: Ask the Holy Spirit to choose the particular books, CDs, magazines, etc., to take to sow to the workers at the drive through windows of fast-food restaurants. If you don't want to eat or drink anything they have (and, after having a sundae the other day--which is not the kind of ice cream I eat any more), they just buy a $1 soft drink or something--and sow it to the car behind you. That's more sowing; more of the "delight factor" from our generous, darling Daddy God!

There is usually a wait, of course, and I was tempted to wait till the next day, for it had become Friday after 5 p.m.--much later than I prefer to be out on a Friday. However, I knew I was on a mission from God, and that those precious ones He was targeting to receive these books (many from well-known Christian authors). So I waited.

The man who took my order sounded gruff. Who knows what troubles he had, but I knew the LORD was about to cheer him up--if he'd let him.

While I was waiting, the enemy tried to tell me (more than once) that the people would not receive the materials, might even scorn them. I told the devil to shut up and bound him from the matter in Jesus' name, and asked the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts.

He did--but of course! The two recipients were blessed.

I even got a pleased look out of the man at the first window, after I gave him my debit card and then exchanged the receipt he handed me for a praise and worship CD and two books! "God bless you!" I said, and he said the same. "God is good!" I replied, and drove up to the next window.

I instructed the surprised young lady to give the drink I paid for to the car behind me, then I handed her three books. "And these are for you!" I said. She smiled and looked a little confused. I pointed again to the car behind me, and instructed her to give the paid-for drink to them. "God bless you!" I said, and drove away.

I believe I did what the LORD wanted to do through me; share the wealth--no strings attached. I didn't invited them to church, or hand them a card with its address, nor did I ask if I could pray for them. (There is nothing wrong with any of that as the LORD leads, of course, and I bet those two know I prayed for them anyway!)

Let us be thrilled and thankful that the truly Awesome One chooses to do most of His work on earth through us, imperfect-but-willing disciples.

He leads us, but never forces. Hallelujah, He shares the wealth of the priceless privilege of partnering with Him--no strings attached!
