The Power to Inscribe or to Blot Out of the Lamb's Book of Life!

But nothing that defiles or profanes or is unwashed shall ever enter it, nor anyone who commits abominations (unclean, detestable, morally repugnant things) or practices falsehood, but only those whose names are recorded in the Lamb’s Book of Life.--Revelation 21:27, AMPC

It is easy for me to change my calendar, as the students I tutor or I have to alter times and days to adjust to other things in our lives. It occurred to me a couple of days ago, that it is even easier for the Sovereign LORD to write us into--or out of--the Lamb's Book of Life!

I am not at all a Bible scholar, although I love the Word and learning more of God's ways. I don't know much, but I know that Jesus Christ is LORD of all, and the soon-returning glorious, victorious King, Who is my (Zoe!) life!

I know that, when I was nine and was convicted during Vacation Bible School that I needed to be saved from my sins by faith in the shed blood of Jesus on the cross over 2,000 years ago, He anwered my prayer for forgiveness, and came into my heart--and instantly translated me from darkness to the Kingdom of Light. At the moment I truly believed and confessed Him as Savior, my name was written in the Lamb's Book of Life!

Hallelujah!

It was easy and instantaneous for me.

Jesus, of course, was the One Who suffered the most terrible and humiliating death on the cross for me. It was a long and angonizing time of three excruiciating days for Him--which included total separation from the Father, which I cannot and will not ever have to imagine!

Although I used to believe in "once saved, always saved," I now believe that it is possible for a true Believer to lose their Salvation, but only in the sense of them deciding to utterly reject and renounce Christ Jesus, even after knowing how faithful and loving and kind and generous and wonderful He is!

A coupld of years ago, I heard a preacher talk about one being able to be blotted out of the Lamb's Book of Life!

I found where King David talks about that. If it was possible then, it is possible now, for the Old Testament was a shadow of the New Testament, a much better Covenant. (However, we need both the Old and the New, and it is incorrect to think we can discard the Old Testment!)

²⁸Let them be blotted out of the book of the living and the book of life and not be enrolled among the [uncompromisingly] righteous (those upright and in right standing with God).--Psalm 69:28, AMPC

Then, even more powerfully, I discovered a Scripture about it in the New Testament: Thus shall he who conquers (is victorious) be clad in white garments, and I will not erase or blot out his name from the Book of Life; I will acknowledge him [as Mine] and I will confess his name openly before My Father and before His angels.--Revelation 3:5, AMPC

So, obviously, the Sovereign LORD Jehovah, the Creator and Sustainer of Heaven and the universe, and all life--can have His angel blot out someone's name from His Book, as easily as I change names on my calendar.

What a terrible thing, to me! I cannot even imagine anyone who has truly known the goodness of God through Christ wanting to forsake Him and follow the darkness!

God is the Author of Life, and He is all good! His Plan for mankind was perfect--the Garden of Eden! Even after Adam and Eve committed traason against Him (and thus plunged all mankind into the terrible destiny of being born with a sin nature, and headed for hell unless they receive the One true God, Jesus Christ, as their Savior and LORD!, which is when their names will be written in the Lamb's Book of Life!), He had great mercy. Instead of killing them, he shed the blood of an animal, and covered them with animal skins. Halleujah!

So God's intent in creating people to start with was to have a creature with a free will, who would choose to worship and serve Him, and receive His wonderful, faithful, pure Love!

However, even when Jesus was on the earth, He did not win 100% of the souls who heard Him speak and saw His miracles.

Even in the Last Days, as the book of Revelation tells us, there will be humans with such hard hearts that, no matter how bad life is for them. Man has a free will. Even the Sovereign LORD will not cross that line.

(There are also other Books of the LORD that will be opened, and, although covwered by the Grace and Mercy of God (only for true Believers in Christ), we will all be judged by our works, words, and attitudes while on earth:

I [also] saw the dead, great and small; they stood before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is [the Book] of Life. And the dead were judged (sentenced) by what they had done [their whole way of feeling and acting, their aims and endeavors] in accordance with what was recorded in the books.--Revelation 20:12, AMPC)

Even unbelievers and scorners of the LORD will have to acknowledge Jesus Christ as LORD, however, whether they like it or not!

And all the inhabitants of the earth will fall down in adoration and pay him homage, everyone whose name has not been recorded in the Book of LIfe of the Lamb that was slain [in sacrifice] from the foundation of the world.--Revelation 13:8, AMPC

However, praise the LORD, King Jesus will return before that horrific tribulation period to rescue all of us who truly believe Him, and take us out of here to Heaven with Him. Hallelujahj

He Who gives this warning and affirms and testifies to these things says, Yes (it is true). [Surely] I am coming quickly (swiftly, speedily). Amen (so let it be)! Yes, come, Lord Jesus!--Revelation 22:20, AMPC

If you already believe, then praise Him and thank Him for saving you! Ask Him to help you live every day to His glory!

If you want to put your faith in Christ Jesus and His eternal, all-encompassing Love for you, say this simple prayer: Dear Jesus, I ask You to please forgive me of my sins. You are holy, and I choose to believe that only Your blood shed at the cross is powerful and pure enough to pay for all my wrongs. I receive you into my heart as my Savior and LORD. Please teach me to follow You. Thank You for saving me from hell, and giving me a wonderful new Life in You! Amen!

Now, if you just said that prayer and meant it, congratulations for making the very best decision of your life!

Your name is now written forever in the Lamb's Book of Life--unless you decide to reject and renounce the LORD Who is good and all good (but why would you ever do that?)! The angels in Heaven are havine a party about you, celebrating your glorious eternal decision!

You will start to feel different, with much more peace and joy, in spite of circumstances! This is because the Holy Spirit of God, the Spirit of Jesus Christ, will truly inhabit you and now help you with every part of life (He is a Gentleman, so you'll need to ask Him to help you every day. He will!). You will start to have a much better life, including much more powerful protection, wisdom, strength, freedom, and abundance, all the more as you follow Him. It is a journey, but so worth it! Ask Him to lead you to the right Bible-believing church; to read the Bible daily, and to pray (talk and listen) to Him, and to worship.

Congratulations again, for you are now a child of Jehovah, part of The Royal Family of the Living God!
