POWER IN THE WORD

Thought:  We find Jesus in the wilderness, hungry, after fasting for 40 days and nights.  What was the first thing Satan temped him with? Food.  How did Jesus answer him?  With the WORD.  This was the weapon he used to rebuke Satan’s temptations.  He said “worship only the Lord God, and obey Him (Math 4:1-11).”

Once we identify the enemy who is also the Father of all liars, a thief and a destroyer, we can follow Jesus example on how to fight against the wicked one.  But we need to be equipped with God’s armor (Eph. 6:10-11).  We do not fight against people made of flesh and blood, but against persons without bodies—the evil rulers of the unseen world, those mighty, Satanic beings and great evil princes of darkness who rule this world; and against hug numbers of wicked spirits in the spirit world (Eph. 6:12).  One of those pieces of armor is the sword, God’s WORD.

It is vital we know what that WORD says and means and put it to our memory.  The Bible is our final authority in all things.  It’s the history of man kind from beginning to end.  We don’t need any other source or person to tell us how to live.  His Word is our soul food.  It is the strength and hope for a brighter future.  When Jesus is in our lives, we become one of his children and royalty to the King.  Here are some of those WORDS you can use against the Evil one’s tricks and strategies when he comes against your marriage, your family and loved ones.

Genesis chapter 1 tells us all things were created by his word.

Heb. 11:3 KJ “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the WORD of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”

Psalms 33:6,7,8,9 KJ “By the WORD of the Lord were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. He gathereth the waters of the sea together as a heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. Let all the earth fear the Lord: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.”

Prayer:  Father God, help me to put your WORD to memory so that I can be fully equipped to fight off the wicked one.  Amen

Verse:  Eph. 6:10,11 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God , that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.”
