Love And Loving (4)

In part three of this series, I discussed the second part of the procedure for love and loving. Then I wrote about the standard measure to know what it takes to love others.

In this part four of the series, I am going to examine, in brief, common acts that are often mistaken to be evidevidencelove. This This activity was carried out without an iota of love in it. Tthemse is a wasteful venture.

A Wasteful Sacrifice.
Apostle Paul calls our attention to such in 1 Corinthians 13:3
"[3]If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing."

Using the above as our guide, let us consider three of h activities:
1. Giving everything you have to the poor. This can be done by anyone. It requires some pain to do this. Giving everything! It requires sacrifice. However, when such is done without love, it is a waste.
2. Going further from giving everything, if a man decides to give his body, it may not be of any benebenefithim without doing it in love.
3. Every effort that a man can be proud of as a good deed may not be of value, whatever it might be or involved, without love.

Do you wonder why? Yes, you are right. What is the motive behind each activity? There are many reasons why people carry out an activity. This shows that the sole and acceptable motive must be love.

Do you know people engage in all forms of painful offerings and sacrifices for lustful desires, and, other selfish or exploitative reasons? That is the truth about that.

A profitable giving comes out of pure love. Taking love out of any activity, no matter how great the sacrifice behind it, renders it valueless. Do you want to engage in unprofitable giving and sacrifices? It will not be to your advantage.

Why not begin to do things in genuine love that begins with loving your Creator for the whole of your existence as a human being? This will bring great gain to you on this Earth and in Heaven. God bless you as you begin a new love life with God, yourself, and, your neighbors in Jesus name.
