Each entertainer performed at Branson, Missouri.

Those were the good old days.

What happened? Sadly, many in the list have died. Others have retired and the remainder went back on the road. Today, Branson has few big name entertainers.

Many tourists miss Branson’s good old days.

“Do not say, ‘Why is it that the former days were better than these?’
For it is not from wisdom that you ask about this (Ecclesiastes 7:10 NASB).”

Things have changed in Branson.

What’s new?

Up and coming entertainers work in tribute shows and many do an excellent job. The Presley’s and The Baldnobbers Jamboree were among Branson’s earliest shows. They remain and still draw large crowds. There’s gospel music and salutes to veterans too.

There’s something to say about new attractions too. Sight & Sound Theatre brings Bible Stories to the stage. Large crowds come from all over the nation to see each dramatic presentation.

Branson reminds me of many rural communities in America.

We remember the good old days when there were plenty of jobs. There are few today and the population has dropped drastically; people have moved to larger cities in search of work. Churches were full in the good old days and everyone knew their neighbors.

God is still in control; He can always do something new.

“Behold, I am going to do something new,
Now it will spring up;
Will you not be aware of it (Isaiah 43:19a NASB)?”
