Come on down!

I remember the booming voice of Johnny Olsen from decades back. 

Come on down!

Yesterday, I discovered come UP in Old Testament Scripture.

“So both of them showed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines. And the Philistines said, ‘Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they have hidden.’ Then the men of the garrison called to Jonathan and his armorbearer, and said, ‘Come up to us, and we will show you something.’

Jonathan said to his armorbearer, ‘Come up after me, for the Lord has delivered them into the hand of Israel (1 Samuel 14:11-12 NKJV).”

The LORD will soon return to gather His children.

Come on up!

“For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.  For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 NKJV).”
