Shape Your Loved Ones' Lives With the Word of God!

by Tonja Taylor
7/09/2023 / Christian Living

Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak,--2 Corinthians 4:13, AMPC

Speaking the Word of God is always the right thing to do! Instead of being afraid we're not doing it right, let us trust the Holy Spirit of Truth to help us. He knows what we mean, and when we are sincere, He will bless our efforts to shape the lives of our loved ones with His eternal Word!

Speaking the eternal, living, unchanging Word of God to purposely positively shape our lives and our loved ones' lives is powerful!

God created the whole world with words! In Genesis 1, we see that "God said," and something came into being in the earth!

After all, we are speaking spirits, and we're going to be saying something over ourselves, our spouses, our kids, and others, so may the LORD help us to take responsibility for our words, become more aware of what we are saying, and ask Him to help us replace the wrong words with the right ones. He will!

We can bless our families and other loved ones, by speaking the Word of God over them. This is especially powerful in the lives of our children, for we are shaped by the words of those authority figures in our lives--whether for good or evil.

And God pronounced a blessing upon Noah and his sons and said to them, Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.----Genesis 9:1, AMPC

Later, the LORD blessed Abraham--the former heathen whom He chose to become the father of the faith of all who would truly belong to the LORD Jesus Christ!

And he blessed him and said, Blessed (favored with blessings, made blissful, joyful) be Abram by God Most High, Possessor and Maker of heaven and earth,--Genesis 14:19, AMPC

I'm so thankful the LORD saved me early (age 9, in Vacation Bible School), and taught me to start loving His Word even before then. Later, as a mother, He taught me the importance of blessing--speaking the Word of God--over my daughter. This includes speaking the Word over her in the womb, and also asking Him to guide me to specific Scriptures to speak over her, and to have the pastor speak over her, as she was dedicated to the LORD. (She was just three months old, and it was Mother's Day. What a very special time!)

The Holy Spirit, Who creates all people, and knows us all better than we know ourselves, knows every moment of your loved ones' lives. Ask Him to guide you to the right Scriptures to proclaim over them, and He will!

He---the perfect Father--will add to them as needed, as they grow.

Don't forget to speak the Word over yourelf and your spouse (or husband to be! That reminds me, when I was desiring a truly Godly husband who would be the Covenant partner I knew I must have to accomplish the will of God in my life, the LORD led me to write out specific things I wanted and needed in my husband from him, and then to pray certain Scriptures over this man, for about an hour a day for a season.

The LORD is so faithful! He sent my Ephesians 3:20 husband, as I call him, to me at just the right time! Not only did everything on that list (which was written over 20 years ago), from what I remember, come to pass in my dear husband, but there is more besides!

God is so good!

You will never go wrong speaking the Word of God over yourself and your loved ones. It may seem awkward at first---but so does any new venture.  Soon, you will learn to love His Word even more. He will give you deeper insight into the mystery of Himeself, and you can have more confidence in His love and faithfulness for you!

Ask the LORD to show you where to start, and, if you don't get a direction (We have to learn to understand how to hear from the LORD, but He will teach you!), open the Bible and read until you find a verse that you want to speak over your children. Remember, He will also reveal verses for you to speak over yourself!

The Word of God is the ultimate, all-powerful Tool for positively shaping our lives and others'!  It is a seed, like Jesus says in the Gospels, that we plant. Often, just like a regular seed, it takes a while for the fruit to appear. However, when we plant the incorruptible Word, and water it (by continuing to speak that Word, and thanking God for the harvest), it will bear fruit!

The first way the Word of God usually bears fruit as we speak it over others' lives, is that it starts to positively shapes our lives!

The wicked man earns deceitful wages, but he who sows righteousness (moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation) shall have a sure reward [permanent and satisfying].--Proverbs 11:18, AMPC

Hallelujah! God is all good, and His Word is all good. Why wait? Get started today positively shaping your life and your loved ones (even co-workers, strangers, the whole world!) with the life-changing Word of Life today!

The Lord is good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works [the entirety of things created].--Psalm 145:9, AMPC
