Relationship Seasonings 3.

by Olawale Ogunsola
7/14/2023 / Relationships

Relationships are like meals. To have a delicious meal calls for the engagement of the right ingredients. The same thing goes for having a good relationship. It has to be rightly seasoned.

One of the seasonings that cannot be left out is forgiveness.

No man is infallible. Everyone makes mistakes and they are in various degrees. Certain mistakes are minor while others are great and grave. Some actions of people or someone close to us may wound your heart. Yet, as soon as the fellow realizes his error and repents, you have to forgive him for your relationship to blossom.

As. As I wrote earlier, no man is infallible. If someone offends you today forgive him because tomorrow you may be the person who will need to be forgiven because of your wrong.
The Lord Jesus Christ knows the importance of forgiveness that is the reason He taught His followers to pray thus, "6:9 After this manner, therefore pray e: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name...
6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors."Matthew. KJV
New Living Translation renders the same verses thus, "[9]Pray like this:
Our Father in Heaven,
may your name be kept holy.
[12]and forgive us our sins,
as we have forgiven those who sin against us." Matthew.
Forgiveness is like a bridge. You and others will pass through it. However, if you break that bridge, you have done yourself a serious wrong. You will not have an opportunity to pass on to another place. Love does not keep a list of wrongs of a friend. Instead, it covers them, matter how many they are.

A careful look at the teaching of Jesus Christ will show that for you to be forgiven your sin by God calls for your forgiving those who have sinned against you. Can you see the need now to forgive others?

Not only that, forgiveness will bring health to your body as much as it brings it to your relationship. How? It will eliminate any form of bitterness in your heart that may be affecting your body negatively. Your heart will be free of any ill will. So, forgiveness will not only make your relationship healthy but your body too will be in health.

Therefore, you cannot afford to miss this ingredient in the meal of your relationship. Apply it and your relationship will flourish. You will be the envy of the people around you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
