Notwithstanding, the Apostle Peter was forgiven for denying Jesus to the servant girl and two others; (See Luke 22:54-62) denying Him three times. Denying Jesus will have profoundly devastating outcomes for anyone who has genuinely turned on Him. And typically in these cases, repentance does not come. But concerning the case of Peter, he repented and was grievous over this outlandish sin. Jesus forgave him and reinstated his role in leadership. Therefore, this dire warning does indeed remain for anyone who seriously turns from Him:

“Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son. Whoever denies the Son does not have the faither either; he who acknowledges the Sin has the Father also.” (1John 2:22-23)

“But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33)

“If we endure, We shall also reign with Him, If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” (2Timothy 2:12)

These verses are ominously spoken by Paul and with our Lord’s own mouth, and there are others that echo this notion, sited here as Scriptural parallels:

“Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”  (Matthew 16:24-25)

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.” (Mark 8:35)

As mentioned, this turning away from God needs to be taken seriously….And with all the false doctrines of today, probably many more false than accurate, these verses on how to save our lives have never shouted as loudly, or paralleled our society as closely as they do today.

In today’s upside-down societal rhetoric, where anti-God ideologies are blindly being taken as the ‘gospel truth’ for the ungodly, it’s never been so overtly challenging to speak up for the TRUTH! Therefore, it has never been more important to speak up for the Truth, not to mention, never so difficult. But, as Jesus instructs, with a little help from Paul, by denying Him we lose our lives for all eternity. That’s what He means by trying to save our lives; we may feel tempted to go along with the lies, the wicked manner in which the citizens of this world are living, because it would make our lives so much easier. But, if we do that we are turning on Him, thus, we forfeit our place in Heaven, which is why He also explains that we will lose our lives if we try to save ourselves from the ridicule and betrayal of those unwise souls who persecute us.

ALSO noteworthy, God will not be mocked, subsequently, preplanned repentance for this sin would not be acceptable, as manipulation can never and will never work out for the benefit of the sinner. See Galatians 6:7.

Furthermore, this Truth is also why Jesus says persecution is actually a blessing, perhaps a well-disguised one, but a blessing nonetheless:

“Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed re you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kids of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” (Matthew 5:10-12)
