A Little Sin

by Olawale Ogunsola
9/03/2023 / Salvation

In this life, there are two ways to follow: the right way and the wrong way. To follow the right way is of God while following the wrong way is of the Devil who loves to do evil.

It means that anyone who chooses to do wrong sins and he is of the Evil one, Satan.
"All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death." 1 John 5:18

Some people narrow being a sinner to murder, stealing, and committing immorality, it goes beyond that. All these "Principal sins" have their roots. So, they have their conception before birth. Which means that they have existed before actual birthdays.

Who were they before birth? Sins!
Do you know that every wrongdoing is costly? A little sin is big enough to destroy a man. A big sin starts in a small way. A little space given to Satan through sin is big enough for him to strike.

So, every wrong action is a sin and should be eliminated before it matures enough to destroy.

Job, the righteous, understood this truth and he took a practical step towards nipping a sin that could easily befall him in the bud permanently. He resolved,
"I made a covenant with mine eyes; why then should I think upon a maid?" Job 31:1
He made the decision that could not be reversed not to look at a female lustfully. He understood the truth of life "Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." James 1:15.

New Birth.
Why was Job able to make a Covenant with his eyes? He was able to do so because he feared God. Do you know you can do the same as from today?.

The Holy Scriptures reveal,
"We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not, but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not." 1 John 5:19.

Have you been born of God? Are you born again? It means have you been spiritually born? You have been born into this world which is the first birth and the physical one. This is like weak flesh which is directly under the control of the Devil. Therefore, you need to be renewed (born again) in the Spirit to be restored to the original plan of God to have people who take on His image and likeness.

How? It is a simple matter:
*Examine your life regret all your past misdeeds and acknowledge the truth that you cannot rescue yourself from all your wrongdoings.

*Confess them to your Maker and ask Him to come into your heart permanently to save you.

*Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior forever.

*Ask the Lord to fill you with His Holy Spirit Who will be with you for the rest of your life to lead and guide you to all righteousness.

*Obtain a copy of the Holy Bible and begin to read and meditate on it day and night.

*Join an assembly of God's people where they study the Holy Bible for fellowship and growth.

*Ensure that you follow every instruction of the Holy Spirit and the written word of God.

It shall be well with you in the name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
