Deeds From A Reprobate Mind

by Olawale Ogunsola
10/11/2023 / Salvation

There is no gainsaying the fact that everyone needs his Maker. He is the Source of all men. He is the Creator of all things. He provides all the needs of human beings.

Anyone who detaches himself from God runs great risks, not only in this world but also in Heaven or eternity.

There are various deeds from a reprobate mind which do not profit. They are deeds that are not to be done. Such deeds end up provoking the Lord.

Is it not foolish for a man to fetch a log of wood from the forest, take part of it to warm himself, prepare food from it, and end up turning the remainder into a god to worship? The book of Isaiah paints the picture thus,
"44:16 He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied: yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire:_
44:17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image: he falleth down unto it, and worshippeth it, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god." Isaiah.

The Lord forbids anyone to worship the works of His hands, including the hosts of heaven, how much more will He hate a man worshipping the works of his hands? Can a leftover wood save a man? Yet, those with reprobate minds have chosen to engage in detestable things to their hurt.

In times of trouble, they will call but there will be no one to answer them. The dead image cannot hear nor speak. How then can a dumb idol rescue those who worship it? He has no power to do anything. However, those who trust in it are ready to defend their rights to do whatever they have chosen to worship. Why will they not? After all, they are left to themselves to do what ought not to be done.

Beloved, in which area of your life are you worshipping the works of man's hand? The instruction of God is that no one should worship or serve another god. He forbids bowing down to it. Whatever competes with your Creator in your life is a god or an idol. Do not depart from your God. Don't give place for a reprobate mind so that you will not engage in things that are not convenient to make God angry.

Cleave to Him, worship, and serve Him with the whole of your heart. If you do this, whenever you call on Him, He will answer to give you all that your heart desires.

Do you have someone near you with a reprobate mind trusting in vanity? Remember him in your prayers and if you have the grace, speak to him to forsake his evil thoughts and ways which are not profitable. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
