How to Weed the Garden of Your Soul

Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.--Proverbs 4:23, NLT

Your soul is like a garden—it must be weeded very often, and nurtured with the right things, to grow properly, and give you the yield you desire.

Are you a true Believer, but have lots of junk in your life that you know is against God, but you don't know how to deal with it? These tips from my own experience can give you some insight--and victory!

Trust me, we true Believers (meaning, those of us who have truly confessed our sins; that we could never be good enough, nor do enough good things, to earn the Righteousness that the pure blood of Jesus Christ, shed at the cross over 2,000 years ago, gives us--because God loves us and wants to adopt us as His kids, to live with Him in Heaven forever! Hallelujah!) will always be in the process of becoming more like Christ (and, the more we cooperate, the more pleasant it can be, although the refining process itself is not always pleasant, but the results are so rewarding!). I hear that the process will continue in Heaven, for eternity. So, like I've heard some internationally-respected ministers say, in effect, the more we get done down here (to fulfill The Plan God has for us), the more we will be ahead in Heaven. Something like that.

Thus, the saying that it's the journey, not the destination, that is more important. However, as true Believers in Christ Jesus, we know that we know that it really is the Destination of Heaven that is much more important than the journey of life, yet our journey determines our destination.

Let me clarify to say that our works do not determine whether we get to Heaven. Repenting of our sins and receiving the cleansing, healing, restoring, delivering power of Jesus' blood shed on the cross and confessing Him as Savior and LORD is what gets us to Heaven!

When we have Him in our hearts, His Holy Spirit continuously works to change us into the image of Christ Jesus, and part of that is the good works He inspires us to do.

Hallelujah!

So, whatever you're struggling with, the Holy Spirit of Truth (the Spirit of Jesus!) inside you is convicting you that it's not right, whether it's action, thought, speech, or a combo of these (Ask me how I know!).

What is the answer for the victory? The Word of God, which is alive and active, and able to save your soul (mind, will, emotions).

The LORD will never lead you in any way that is against His Word. Here are a few Scriptures you can use to get victory in your life. The Word of God is Living Water, that will wash the dust and slime from your life, just like pouring pure water into a glass of mud. (Ask me how I know!)

Praise the LORD, His Word will always accomplish what it is sent to do (Isaiah 55:10-12)!

We like quick results, but the results may not be apparent for a while. However, when you keep meditating (reading, thinking about, and/or speaking the Word of God over and over) the Word of God, the Holy Scriptures, the LORD will use it like the best medicine to heal your soul (mind, will, and emotions)!

Here are some Scriptures you can use. The LORD, Who is the Spirit of Truth, will help you know which ones are the most effective for what you are dealing with. Jesus is so many wonderful things (ALL wonderful!), and one is that He is Jehova Nissi, the LORD our Deliverer; the LORD our Victorious Miracle Banner--and His banner over us is Love!

He loves us so much He died a gruesome death on the cross to pay the price for our sins that we could never pay, then He rose again and went to Heaven and sent His Spirit into our hearts, so He could help us and everyone else in the world who wants Him to help them! Hallelujah!

He is coming back soon, and time is short. Let us live for Him in every way, by His help and grace, so others will see His Love and Wisdom and Grace and Generosity and Faithfulness (and more!), and desire to have Him as their Savior and LORD too!

I quickly wrote these down. I don't know the "address" of all of them, but I know they are in there!

God is a GOOD GOOD Daddy, and He will celebrate your every effort to learn and speak and live His Word. He will help you!

Mal 2:15 NLT - Didn't the LORD make you one with your wife? In body and spirit you are his.[fn] And what does he want? Godly children from your union. So guard your heart; remain loyal to the wife of your youth.

Pro 4:23 - Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.

Every plant the Heavenly Father has not planted WILL be rooted up..

There is so much rubble, we cannot rebuild the wall….(Nehemiah)

We have a calm, cool spirit and are free from fears, agitating passions, and moral conflicts.

It is the glory of a king to overlook an offense (Proverbs)

Our love is sincere and without offense, filled with the fruits of righteousness, to the glory and praise of God.

We do NOT have fear, (for God did NOT give it to us), but we have POWER and LOVE and a SOUND MIND; RIGHTEOUSNESS PEACE AND JOY IN THE HOLY GHOST!

We have calm, cool spirits.

Pro 14:19 - The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

We are quick to hear and slowwwww to speak.

Pro 14:25 - A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

Pro 14:26 - In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
