If You Insist

by Tonja Taylor
11/21/2023 / Salvation

The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.--Isaiah 55:10-11, NLT

"I read through them," the older woman insisted, as she glanced at the Scriptures I was pointing to, with the strong intonation in her voice of, and it didn't work.

I gently told her that reading and speaking ("ingesting") the Word of God is like taking a pill or vitamin; it may take a few days, weeks, or longer to notice that it's working, but it always works.

I insisted politely that, if she would just read the Word at least once a day, it will strengthen her in every part of life.

Then, she insisted that she was fine, meaning, she wasn't going to read the Scriptures again.

Sigh. Just like when I taught in public school and have had to discipline a student who refused to hear (or, rather, refused to obey the instruction or correction that I stated more than once), I remembered when Jesus was stating that He would be happy to gather and protect and help His people--but they "would not"; would not come to Him.

Because they have not hearkened to my words, saith the LORD, which I sent unto them by my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them; but ye would not hear, saith the LORD.--Jeremiah 29:19, KJV

I'm not sure about all meds or vitamins, but I know that I know that--as it is written--I know that the Word of God always works!

Hallelujah!

I understand that human nature is often to resist change, and/or be impatient when trying something new that doesn't meet expectations, including not working as quickly as anticipated.

However, I also know that there is great power in insisting in persisting.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.--John 8:31-32, KJV

The key words here are "continue in my word".

Just reading a Scripture a few times is helpful, but to get true victory, you must continue in the Word of God--all your days!

Successful farmers, business people, college graduates, sports champions, and even actors and actresses don't just try something a couple times and stop. They insist—to themselves and others—that they will choose to persist in their pursuits.

As I'm learning more and more, our choices are very powerful; decisions determine destiny.

I have made many wrong choices, and God's grace and mercy and faithfulness are amazing, to reach down His mighty hand and pull me out of the pits I’ve jumped into and wallowed in, then to set my feet on the Rock of Jesus, and put a new Song in my mouth! Hallelujah!

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed.-- Psalm 40:3, NLT

They will put their trust in the LORD. He has been faithful to lead me and help me seek and love His Word, and His Word read and spoken by me to myself, and me allowing others to speak His Word to me and over me, have made phenomenal differences in my life! It is Him that helps us to desire Him, and to continue on to follow Him.

It is His Holy Spirit Who helps us to insist to ourselves and others that the Word of God is the final Answer; to seek and choose to believe and live it.

His Word is our very Life (John 10:10)!

When King Jesus returns (and that will be very soon!), to get all of us who truly believe in Him and take ur out of this damaging, dark world to the purity and power and peacea and pleasure of Heaven forever, then He will reward us for insisting that our lives bring Him honor and glory; and for insisting, especially as parents and ministers and leaders in whatever capacity He assigns us, that Jesus Christ is the King of kings; the only Way to Heaven; the only Savior of the world.

Hallelujah!

The LORD is always a Gentleman. He will never "insist" that you choose to believe in and receive Him as your Savior and LORD. However, the dear Holy Spirit will draw you and convince you that the LORD Jesus loves you, died on the cross for you to cleanse you of your sins, so you can have eternal, blissful life with Him in Heaven when your body dies.

With Jesus the LORD (Elohim), Who created and sustains you and me and every created thing, it's always a win-win!

If you would like to receve Jesus Christ the only true Messiah, as your personal Savior and LORD and Best Friend Forever, you can choose to insist that you believe the Truth, and be born again! Say this prayer out loud: Dear Jesus, I insist that You are the Truth, the Way, and the Life, and that I need You to please forgive me of my sins and come into my heart and be my LORD and Savior and Best Friend Forever. I insist to my mind, that may be doubting, and to my emotions, that may be fearful, that I allow the real part of me--my spirit!--to become one with You, and You with me! Hallelujah! I receive You, LORD, Jesus, and thank You forever!

Now, congratulations on the best decision of your life! You will start to sense His Presence with you immediately. He loves you, and is now with you forever, to help you in every situation. Just remember to insist to your soul (which likes to be "independent," although it's the LORD Jesus (Elohim the Creator) Who gives us every breath!) that you are now a follower of Christ Jesus!  Get a Holy Bible; pray (talk to the LORD, wherever you are, and any time!); find Bible-believing church services on the internet or television and/or in person; start making friends with people who really love God; and listen to music that truly worships LORD Jesus, the soon-returning King!

If you have family or friends who try to "insist" that you are going the wrong way, you can ask Jesus about it, for He is now with you forever! Now, you are His darling little brother or sister, and the darling, dear Child of Father God, Jehovah, the King of Heaven! Jesus will insist (but very politely) that you follow His way. He is gentle and kind, patient and loving. There is no One like Him!

How great you are, O Sovereign LORD! There is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you--2 Samuel 7:22, NLT

Now, as a royal Heir and hepresentative of Jesus Christ, the Most High God, you have the right to insist to yourself and others that Jesus is LORD!

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.--Romans 10:9, NLT

So I want you to know that no one speaking by the Spirit of God will curse Jesus, and no one can say Jesus is Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.--I Corinthians 12:3, NLT
