You WILL Like Your New Name!

“Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give some of the manna that has been hidden away in heaven. And I will give to each one a white stone, and on the stone will be engraved a new name that no one understands except the one who receives it. - Revelation 2:17, NLT

My dear mom, the oldest girl of a big family, never liked her name. When she'd recently moved to Heaven at 82 years of age, I cleaned out her billfold, and realized that she loved her new name--the secret name that only she and Jesus knows!

So, if you don't like your name now (and I've been there!), take heart: Since before you were conceived in your mother's womb, Jesus knows you by a secret name that will be revealed to you at the proper time--when you graduate to Heaven, to be with Him forever! 

And you'll love it!

To increase our joy level, we must learn to think like Heaven! (I'm preaching to myself here!) The LORD sees us very differently than others and even we do. His Love for us is perfect.

So, if we need to forgive our parents for "misnaming" us, then let us do that, and get on with things. 

You can choose to have others call you by a name you like better, and you can even pay to have your name legally changed. 

While our eternal Home is Heaven (once we have truly repented of our sins, and asked the LORD Jesus Christ to forgive us and cleanse our hearts, and be our Savior and LORD!), we need a name and a body to conduct business down here. 

Just remember that everything on earth--except the Word of God and things of the Spirit (including our own human spirits, which are eternal)--is temporary, and soon will be no more.
