Delivering Delight

Even so, being full of loving desire for you, we took delight in giving you not only God's good news, but even our lives, because you were dear to us. - I Thes. 2:8, BBE

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; - I Cor. 2:7, KJV

I got to act like God today. I got to deliver delight; to give, in a joyful, but very simple, easy, economical way.

When my dear mother passed to Heaven a few weeks ago, she left many things. Most of them, I've sowed to charities, with a few personal items given to dear friends and relatives.

A few days ago, I noticed Mom had collected many magnets on the refrigerator, including one that said, "Blessed"; one that said, "Jesus saves"; one that said "God waters"; and more. There were also a couple of gorgeous butterfly magnets. I submitted to what had been the tug of the sweet Holy Spirit, Who knows all things; Who knows just what "foolish things" will speak to each person to help them know He loves them, sees them, and is thinking about them, and I gathered the magnets to sow.

I felt led by His Spirit to put them in a ziplock baggy, and include a Scripture card (I'd found a box of 20 beautifully printed Scriptures for a little over a buck!), and write such phrases on the baggy with a permanent marker like, "Daddy God loves you!", or "This is from your Daddy to you!"

Then, I prayed over them and asked the LORD to direct me to those to whom I was to sow them. He did.

He is faithful to inspire us to pray His will, and then loves to answer those prayers (I John 5:14-15)!

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. - Psalm 37:23, KJV

He truly orders our steps and directs our paths to show love to others. Even if they don't seem to receive it at the time, it is a powerful seed that He will continue to water, and is also perhaps the watering of spirit-seeds already planted in those souls!

Every one of those dear people--complete strangers before the gift--were delighted, but not, I think any more delighted than Daddy God and I were!

When God does something, it's always a win-win!

God is the coolest, and He will meet us where we are. If we desire to give with no hidden motives, but to show others the pure love of God (which is inspired by Him, the Ultimate Giver, of course!), He will give us cool and creative ideas to reach others, and both they and we (and He, I believe, good, sweet, generous, loving Daddy God that He is!) will be delighted!

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. - I John 4:7, KJV

"Our delight is in our giving." I heard that somewhere, years ago, I think, and of course every truly positive saying is based on the Word of God.

Delight, of course, means "great pleasure; great joy."

The LORD God created "The Garden of Delight," which we know as "The Garden of Eden."

He delights in us, because we hope in Him and fear Him.

He is the ultimate Giver, Who gives us every good thing, and most of all, Jesus Christ, His Son--Who gave His life as a ransom for all people for all time, to pay for all our sins, so we could repent and be cleansed and receive Him as our Savior and LORD, to know Him on earth, and to spend eternity in Heaven with Him! Hallelujah!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. - John 3:16, KJV

God delivered us (if we agree to repent and receive Christ Jesus as Savior and LORD, that is!) because He loves and delights in us--and so we can, through His help, deliver others to Him--and they will be most delighted!

Won't you ask Him for witty ideas (or take the one I mentioned) and partner with Him today, to "deliver delight" to others? This world needs to see how loving, sweet, thoughtful, and giving God is; that He delights in them.

He will help you. Go for it!
