With All the Authority We Have

by Tonja Taylor
3/18/2024 / Prayers

Every true Believer in Christ, Who has repented of their sins and received Christ Jesus as Savior and LORD, has been given a seat of Authority. Only the LORD knows the limits of it, but we can proclaim the Word and pray for others, and take all the Authority we have as we intercede!

Today, as I was writing to my dear LORD in my notebook, and then receiving His answer (such a cool thing, to write to Him, then listen and write what He tells you in your heart!), He responded with many wonderful things; one was "No more travesty."

I had heard the word, but was unsure of its meaning, so I looked it up. According to the definition I found, it means “a false, absurd, or distorted representation of something.”

Unfortunately, I can see numerous applications of that word in today’s world!

However, the LORD was being very personal with me, in His very personal response to my letter to Him (He is no Respecter of individuals; He will do the same for you, as you seek Him and follow Him, and choose to believe that He wants to interact with you! Hallelujah!)

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no  respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh  righteousness, is accepted with him. - Acts 10:34-35, KJV

So, very quickly after I read what I had written as He spoke it to my heart, a righteous indignation rose up in me. I started breaking the power of the spirit of travesty, IN THE NAME OF KING JESUS, wherever it had affected my life, my husband's, my families, and my other loved ones' lives--with all the Authority I had in every one of these lives; no more, but no less!

You can do the same!

Just like in the natural world, where there are parents and pastors and peace officers, and leaders and supervisors and managers and owners, and other people in various fields of life, they all have a level of authority. Depending on their level, they can make things happen--or stop them.

From the moment we are truly born again by believing in the authority of the shed blood of Jesus Christ the King, to forgive and cleanse us from our sins, and to restore us to loving relationship with the Father and the Son through the Holy Spirit (Who is the third part of our Triune God!), we are given authority over the enemy, to spoil His efforts, and also authority to execute good works in the earth.

But when the crowds saw this, they were awestruck, and glorified God,  who had given such authority to men. - Matthew 9:8, NASB95

Now, of course, while we may be parents or teachers or bosses of some kind, and have authority to direct them to do, or not do, something, we never have authority over the free will of other people.

Even God has chosen to give each person a free will that He will not override (That is why people go to hell; they use their free will to ignore or otherwise reject the only Savior, Jesus Christ!).

By the way, when someone tries to control the will of another person (for the benefit of the controller), that is manipulation, which the Bible calls witchcraft; a work of the devil.

He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.  For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the  works of the devil. - I John 3:8, KJV

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of  yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man  should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ   Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that  we should walk in them. - Eph 2:8-10, KJV

Any person at any level can abuse authority, and that is part of the unfortunate confusion in society today. We should be able to trust those in authority over us to do us only good.

However, we are in a fallen world.

But King Jesus, the Blessed Hope and true and only Savior of the world, is good and all good. He is the Ultimate Authority in the universe (however many there are, and He, Elohim, can create more any time He wants! Hallelujah!), and yet He has chosen to partner with us to get His will done in the earth!

FOR THIS IS THE COVENANT THAT I WILL MAKE WITH THE
HOUSE OF ISRAEL
AFTER THOSE DAYSSAYS THE LORD:
WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS,
AND I WILL WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS.
AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD,
AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. - Hebrews 8:10, NASB95

We are here on earth in this most unique time, to represent the Most High God, the LORD Jesus Christ, Who has given us His authority to wield for positive change in this earth. So let us go forward, with all the Authority we have--no more but no less (for only the LORD truly knows the limits, but we take every bit of power we have!)--to be the catalysts for His Kingdom that He has created us to be!

Hallelujah!

Whether it's speaking out for the rights of the "unborn" (Life begins at the moment of conception, just like the moment a plant springs from a seed!); or advocating for orphans or widows, displaced individuals, abused people or animals, or others, the LORD commands us use what He's given us to stand up for what is right (to His glory, as He leads, in love!)!

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice
ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice. - Proverbs 31:8-9, NLT

We should help others do what is right and build them up in the Lord. - Romans 15:2, NLT

So let's go for it. Let's seize the day (Latin "Carpe diem").

When we intercede for others, that is a powerful way to help them, and when many of us are praying and otherwise uniting to speak up as God leads, we can accomplish great things!

As we are bold to trust the LORD and take a step, our Good Shepherd will guide us, and He'll accomplish through us more than we could dream.  He, the Divine Authority, will flow through us to take all the Authority we have, and change this world for Christ!
