How to Choose Life

You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact! - Acts 3:15, NLT

“I call heaven and earth to witness against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. So choose life  in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the LORD your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days that you may live in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give them.” - Deut. 30:19-20, NASB95

Unless someone's brain and/or mind (for the brain is the organ/gray matter, and the mind is our thinking capacity, and part of the soul) is really messed up, we want LIFE. We were created by God for life, and life more abundantly (Zoe life; John 10:10)!

So, according to the unchanging, infallible (error-free), eternal Word of God, here are specifics of how our amazing, faithful God, Who is Love (I John 4:8) says we can choose life (and, by His Holy Spirit, He helps us desire and choose life!. They are outlined in these vital basics, in Deuteronomy 30, verses 19 and 20:

• Love the LORD your God
• Obey His Voice
• Hold fast to Him (not change your mind about Him, even if others try to persuade you to)

The LORD says that “this is your life and the length of your days, that you may live…”

As the LORD told me years ago, “Life is simple, unless you make it hard.”

I’ve made it hard many times (duh!), trying to do my own thing, my own way, in my own time.

I’m learning, with the LORD’s help to wait on Him, trust in Him, and flow better with His all-knowing Holy Spirit, Who leads us into all Truth.

Hallelujah, and He’ll do the same for you!

Just ask, and He will give you wisdom on more details concerning these three simple but profound commands!

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. - James 1:5, NASB95

He is good. He loves you eternally, completely, and He will help you!

For the Lord God helps Me, Therefore, I am not disgraced; Therefore, I have set My face like flint, And I know that I will not be ashamed. – Isaiah 50:7, NASB95
