God's Protection

For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone. -- Psalm 91:11-12, NASB95

On my way to work one morning, I approached a busy elementary school zone. There were cars everywhere.

As I neared the crosswalk, I saw the guard look across the street. She grabbed her "STOP" sign, and held it up as she headed to the oppostie corner where a little boy was waiting.

I stopped, but another car pulled up beside me, and kept on going. The guard sped up to meet the little boy--who was coming to meet her--and walked directly in front of the car, which would have hit her, if it hadn't stopped.

The guard stretched out her arm, and grabbed the tiny hand of the little one. She beamed down at him as she pulled him to safety, keeping her body between him and the dangerous traffic. He smiled back at her, happy and secure, knowing that by putting his hand in the guard's, he would be safe.

I felt a glorious pang as the Spirit reminded me that this is exactly what Jesus does for us, through the protection of His holy angels.

Hallelujah! How great and faithful is our loving Daddy God!

(He is our Father once we have truly repented of our sins, asked the LORD to forgive us, and asked Jesus Christ, God's Son, to cleanse us with His blood and come into our hearts and lives and be our Savior and LORD. Romans 5:6-11)

We thank and praise the LORD for His mercy and protective Grace!

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you. Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you. To Him be dominion forever and ever. Amen. - I Peter 5:6-11, NASB95
