One Kind of Person God Loves

by Tonja Taylor

The LORD detests the way of the wicked, but He loves those who pursue righteousness. --Proverbs 15:9, Berean Standard Bible

Understanding how much God loves us is the ultimate life-long pursuit of a true Believer, to me, for that understanding translates into serving as a pure vessel through which He can love others. When we truly know we are permanently and totally loved, that frees, heals, delivers, restores, and guides us! Hallelujah!

So, although the LORD loves every person ever created, and whomever will be created (for He creates all life!), the Word states that He loves those who pursue righteousness.

Jesus Christ, Jehovah Tsidkenu, is the LORD our Righteousness! Hallelujah!

Truly, we are perfectly loved by our holy God through the pure blood of His Son, the LORD Jesus, Who died for us, Who gave all in the most terrible death that could ever be, so we could know God as Father. Hallelujah!

When we repented of our sins (for however we have not met the holy Standards of God--for we never could in ourselves, and that's why Christ Jesus had to die, after the first perfect man fell and corrupted all mankind thereafter) and received Christ Jesus as our Savior and LORD, then God has become our Father, our Covenant God, Who will never change His mind about His love for us!

Hallelujah!

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out His love into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, whom He has given us. For at just the right time, while we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.   - Romans 5:5-6, Berean Standard Bible

Yet, this Scripture emphasizes that God loves those who pursue righteousness.

"Pursue" means that it is a deliberate choice each of us make to seek and follow (and practice, obviously) to be right in the sight of God.

This never means we can be right with God by works, by "doing", and that is the main problem with all the other religions in the world; people are trying to work to be good enough for God and Heaven.

We who are Jews by birth and not Gentile “sinners” know that a man is not justified by works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified. - Galatians 2:15-16, Berean Standard Bible

We can never justify ourselves. Not gonna happen! Iimpossible!

The only way to truly be right with God is by simply admitting that you have missed it; that you could never hit the mark, the target of perfection, by yourself, in yourself. Nope. We each must have an Intercessor, a Heavenly Lawyer.

…Who will bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies.  justifies. Who is there to condemn us? For Christ Jesus, who died, and more than that was raised to life, is at the right hand of God— and He is interceding for us.  - Romans 8:33-34, Berean Standard Bible

We must be dressed correctly, or we'll never get into the Party of all parties, the Feast of all feasts--the Marriage Supper of the Lamb!

Then the angel told me to write, “Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” And he said to me. "These are the TRUE words  of God.”  - Revelation 19:9, Berean Standard Bible

How do you "pursue righteousness?" Easy. (1) Read the Bible (God can use any version!). (2) Go to a Bible-believing church regularly, in person, and not just online. (3) Listen to and sing along with true worship music. (4) Pray (talk to God, your Father, once you have truly repented of your sin and received Jesus Christ as your Savior and LORD!) daily, and through the day, for once you receive Christ, He is with you always. Hallelujah! (5) Fellowship with like-minded Believers. (6) Ask the LORD what you need to change, so you can hear Him better, and enjoy life even more. (7) Thank the LORD daily, through the day--for every good thing in your life comes from Him!

Go for it, beloved of God!
