Roots And Fruits (Part 2)

by Olawale Ogunsola
6/27/2024 / Christian Apologetics

Roots are an inexhaustible source of supplies to a tree so that it can bear fruits. So it is with every man.

I read a short but powerful piece from a Minister of God on June 24, 2024, and it was very encouraging to everyone who is in Jesus Christ, genuinely. It is a great reminder to all. May the Lord continue to bless her and the ministry He had given her in the name of Jesus Christ.

The story she dwelt on was the story of the lame man on the way to the Beautiful Gate in the Acts of the Apostles chapter three.

In this interesting story, two things contradict each other. It is a common belief that whoever begs for harm expects nothing but money. That is the reason Apostle Peter said that gold or silver they, Peter and John, had none.

On the other hand, the Scriptures disclose the truth from the depths of his heart thus,
"[5]So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them." Acts 3.

The key words here that worked for the man are "expecting to receive something". Beloved, it worked an unforgettable miracle in his life. That is why we are reading the story today. Do you know that the hidden desire of his heart was in agreement with what Apostle Peter had to offer? He told the beggar, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise and walk.” Acts 3:6.

And it was so! Glory be to God forever, amen.

This reminded me of an experience that I had with a Minister of God who came to Jesus into my life one day. The servant of God repeated the story whenever we met many times. He did so again in the middle of June twenty-fourth when we met again with another Minister of God who came that we may reason together on his pass through.

What happened? He was married in the year twenty-nineteen and the Lord blessed him with a baby boy. The mother and the baby were both hail and hearty. Glory be to God!

Now he came to the Lord in my life and said, "Daddy, the naming ceremony of my child is to take place in three days and there is nothing yet."

According to him, he said the shocking reply he got was, "You have no problem at all. Simply go to your Boss Who employed you. Tell Him that He has given you a child, He should give you the money and all that you need for the naming ceremony coming up in three days."

According to him, he went home with a heavy heart because I didn't give him anything. As at the time he came to me, I had only two hundred Naira with me which was not up to half of a dollar.

However, he said he went to his Boss for a request as directed. Do you know what? It worked. Within a few minutes, calls started to come in with provisions needed for the ceremony. He had more than enough even after the ceremony. What a wonderful Lord we serve!

He always repeats it since then, he goes to his Boss to request what he needs for himself or his household and He never fails.

Have you ever come across this verse of the Holy Scriptures? "[8]Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Hebrews 13:8. If yes, that is the truth for life. If not, you have come across it now. It holds forever.

As Jesus Christ did in the life of the lame man from the womb who walked and in the life of the Servant of God, He will work in your own life regularly in the name of Jesus Christ. It is an uncommon opportunity to have access to an inexhaustible source for life. Be close to your source of all good things. Do not miss the golden opportunity. Use it well.

Let me leave you with this reminder from CAC Hymn 568
What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer. (First stanza)

For all your needs, contact your source. Remain with Him and His Word, then you will bear fruits abundantly. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
