Thank God for Big Sisters


My family you see is now like most others
I had a father, mother, sisters, and brothers
Three older sisters, as for brothers, just two
Then I came along and they still were not through

Mom and dad then proceeded to make me two sisters
Then our family got broke, it had suffered a twister
Mom and dad both got up in the morning one day
Each of them had decided to go their own way

There was only one problem with this plan of theirs
They forgot to speak to each other about their heirs
When night started falling neither came in the door
Had left their eight children alone that's for sure

I adore my big sister; she became, strong and brave
She said that this matter was not really that grave
She took very good care of us for three days and nights
She's a hero in my book, she did everything right

My uncle showed up then one late afternoon
Got a hold of my dad, he was home very soon
I will never forget what we all have gone through
I want to thank my big sister, and say I love you

We have all now grown up, with children of our own
I still get excited when she calls on the phone
I'm not alone with this feeling I possess
All of us younger think she is the best
