Nothing left to live for...
No one to care.
No one who remembers
Her face once fair.

Her beauty has faded...
Gone with the years.
Her usefulness trickled
And left the tears.

Family thinks she's crazy,
Over the edge.
She knows she is desperate,
Her nerves in shreds.

Once she had her babies
But time took them.
And left her with heartaches
That would not heal.

Then came her grandchildren
So bright and fair,
But hatred came along...
Snatched them from there.

Everything she did was
Always so wrong.
She was sick and confused...
Longed to go home.

She knew there was no hope
Of change to come.
She could not sleep at night.
She came undone.

Their prophecies came true,
She lost her mind.
She never spoke to them,
Not one last time.

In her little dream world
She dreamed big dreams.
Of a world true and right,
Angels did sing.

She worked hard all her days,
It came to this.
She did try her hardest...
Never was missed.

Linda Franks is a first time author with "Rhyme and Reason from the Rose Cottage" about to come off the press! She is a counselor/therapist with a thriving private practice and writes a monthly mental health column for two newspapers. She makes her home in the country with her husband and her dog.
